    I purcased an xbox 360 in december and it came with 2 codes..One for a 1 month gold membership and 1 code for a tomb raider download. Day after day I tried but was unsuccessful redeeming the codes.

    I contacted microsoft support and raised two tickets on the issue. Still no response. I even tried purchasing an xbox live 12 month membership from Amazon. AND THE CODE STILL DID NOT WORK.

    I tried redeeming both on the website and the console and was unsuccessful either way.

    This is ridiculous now.

    I have fairly purchased these codes and have been give the run around. The last agent I spoke with had the nerve to suggest that I contact the retailer.

    I had to suppress my anger over this. I gave her a previous reference number and she still told me this

    Does anybody from support truly read these forums......

    What error message do you get when you try to redeem on the console? We can't help you if you don't help us.

  5. The error I am receiving is XBOS1005

    I have tried it on both the console and on the website

    I have cleared my cache..I have deleted and redownloaded my profile

    I have used both a wireless and wired connection. I have done end to end connectivity tests.

    In this last incident report I have even provided my console id.

    Ok question are you getting the same regional codes for your account region subscription and dlc codes should always be purchased from your actual region

    The error code you posted suggests you are using an Xbox One. Do you have access to a 360 that you can try? Others who've had the same error have had some success with a 360.

    I am using an xbox 360..I dont have an xbox one yet

    My region is set as the US. I bought a US code.

    I even spoke to one of the reps about that in the second ticket I raised

  9. At any rate the XBOS1005 error appeared when I tried to redeem my code on the XBOX SITE.....so whether the console was an xbox one or a 360 should not have mattered

    And this was the third code that has not worked..I have seen other persons reporting similar issues about the XBOS1005 error and to this point I have not seen any definitive answer on the issue...

    Ah, that's why I don't recognize the code. Can you try entering it on the console and post the error code you get from there. Press the Guide button on the controller and scroll left then choose Redeem Code.

  11. When I use the console the error was that it is not a valid code. I could understand if it was an issue with only this code. However every code I have tried to redeem on the site has not worked. INCLUDING the codes that came in the bundle I directly purchased
    from the Microsoft store.

    I have gone through this multiple times now with them. They tried to pass the buck and ask me to go back to the retailer. That was not going to fly with me considering that the codes they sent me with the console didnt work either.

    They told me to wait for contact over the next 3-4 days.

    Pretty much they were happy to take my money for buying the console. They had no issues doing that at all.

    As I said. If you do a search for XBOS1005 you can see I am not the only one having the issue

    I live in Barbados....I spoke to a MS rep who informed me that if I bought a 12 month gold membership it would work if I have my region code set to US in my xbox live profile

  14. You were informed incorrectly. Barbados is not a country where Xbox LIVE is supported. The system is checking your physical location and since Barbados is a sovereign country and not part of the United States. You cannot just lie and say you are in the
    US and expect it to work. You're trying to redeem a code for a product that is not technically sold in your country as such it would be against international import/export laws.

    In short those codes will never work for you.

  15. First of all I did not lie.

    I specifically stated my address providing a barbados location on the purchase information.

    Secondly I informed the xbox support agent of my country location when I reported the issue.

    Thirdly I specifically asked the agent whose name I could provide whether a 12 month membership would work. She specifically stated that if I set the region code as US that the membership would work. I asked this on multiple occasions and was told this REPEATEDLY.

    I could post the entire transcripts of the conversations I have had with xbox support on this.

    The ONE THING I HAVE NOT DONE WAS EVER BE DISHONEST with microsoft on the issue

    I have provided them with physical locations, account id's, console id's. EVERYTHING they have asked for.

    Lastly, how is it that you guys are willing to take my money for the hardware console, but think to be so dismissive of my issues with redeeming codes that were part of the bundles that I paid money legally and fairly for
