3D Ready?

Taking delivery of a new 60inch 3D TV today, and I want to build up a collection of 3D movies. Question is...Is the XBOX ONE Blu-Ray, 3D Ready, or will I have to buy a stand-alone Blu-Ray 3D Player if I want to view movies in 3D?. Cannot seem to
find a definitive answer to this. Any advice, or help with this would be appreciated.

3D support requires:



- A 3D TV

- 3D glasses compatible with aformentioned 3D TV

- HDMI cabling to hook the 360 up via HDMI to the 3D TV

3D Blu-Ray support is being added but there is no indication of when it will be. Hopefully soon so I can unplug my PS3 lol.

 

When you look at the loading screens for "Forza 5" it's hard to tell if the game was supposed to be 3D and that was just abandoned or if they plan to throw it out as a surprise when the 3D Update is released.

Either way it looks like it was being built to be a 3D game.

 

Would be nice to try 3D more often but I have to be careful as it makes me feel sick [tag:Epilepsy]

 

Would also be nice to see native in some games.

(When I say native, I mean no awful stretch to fit.)

In fact, how about dual play used with the TV pass through? (Tv sound to TV and Game sound to the new headphones?)

 

^ That isn't a bad idea at all. I don't really play 2 player at home but this would be pretty sweet for those that did!

 

I'm waiting for the 3D feature as well. I'd hope its being worked on and Tech support have said it's highly likely but no time frame for this as yet. Lets hope its soon.

 

Looks like I`m gonna have to buy a stand-alone Blu-Ray 3D player then. Bang goes cash I had set aside for a Soundbar to go with the new TV. Or Soundbar 1st as originally planned, and hope that MS update XB1 to 3D Ready quite soon. Wish MS would get thier
finger out, as even the PS3 is 3D ready..lol

im writing this on 3/6/14 and as far as i know theres still no news on any 3D.i paid just under a grand for my 42" 3D tv to watch film and game in 3D.i would have thought that this would come as standard with this (next) gen consoles.

 

3D has always been a bit of a Gimmick but with E3 who knows... the support you seek could be a few days away.

 

I doubt if there will be any 3D support, its going the way of betamax.

 

I for one would also welcome 3D on Xbox. Although I am inclined to disagree with the 'Betamax' comment (sorry Genchy). There is a broad uptake across manufacturers in 3d devices (unlike Betamax) and the industry is able to charge a premium for it also
(Cinema ticket /Blu Ray prices).

The issue is, as always, the 'software'. A good 3D film makes you feel part of the action (Avatar & Gravity) a bad one takes me back to playing with the sets of cut out characters and sets you used to get on the back of breakfast cereal packets oh so long
