3d officially announced for the August update!!

Finally my top requested feature will be added in August!!! NOW it is time for me to pick up the X1!!

Xbox One X Scorpio Edition

Pre-ordered mine direct from Microsoft (UK) in August, the day after it was officially announced.

No order status updates as yet.

 

3D Games For Xbox One

It is compatible now, at launch it was not. I beleive the update for 3d Blu ray support was in august.

 

The 3D is currently for Blu Ray, and available through the august preview update on Xbox One. The update will become available for everyone else later during august.

 

Yeah Camaro you will have to wait probably about 3 weeks before you can use the feature since you arent a beta tester.

 

I don't have the X1 yet but after this update I will see how well it works. If it seems like the 3d is working properly with very few bugs, then I will get the x1.

For those that are testing the 3d, how well does it work? Any bugs? Runs perfectly smooth? How is it compared to the 3d on the PS3?

More than likely I will be trading in my PS3 for the X1 because at that point I will no longer need it.

yay lets throwback to the 80s....

I cant believe people complain about kinect and then want 3d (which is the biggest gimmick ever)

 

What % of peeps do you guys actually think would really utilize this? I have 3d capable t.v.s and have no desire to use the 3d function.

15-20% maybe. It is a highly requested feature so some do want it

 

I am no 3D person myself. I think 24hrs nailed the %

 

15%-20% sounds about right. Luckily the demand is high enough that they keep supporting 3d. Once you see movies properly displayed in 3d or play games properly displayed in 3d, its very hard to play without 3d. The amount of depth perception and immersion
with 3d is incredible.

The majority of the movies that release in the theater are in 3d. So 3d is growing more and more every year and is here to stay. The technology is miles ahead of the 3d in the 80s. In fact they don't even have the red blue glasses in the theater any more.
The glasses are clear and very comfortable.

I am just so happy the update is finally happening. I was guessing about a year. So glad it is finally coming. I will finally have the X1 sometime in August for sure.

 

The number of movies in the Trafford center offering 3D seems to be dropping, and there has been 3d options on a few games, I haven't seen any posts about how good or bad they are.

Personally I would wait for September of october to buy an xbox if I didn't already have one, thats when the new games are out, not much on the market till then, but glad your happy.

 

I remember playing Batman Arkham City on the Xbox 360 in 3D for the 1st time shortly after my brother got his 3D-capable TV. It was absolutely stunning, and that's coming from someone who generally despises 3D.
