3D-BluRay interference from Kinect(infrared)

I was trying to watch a 3D bluray via the xbox one on my Sony Bravia 3D-TV for the first time, and it would work for about 5-10secs, then go off for 10 secs, then work for 5-10secs, etc.

After a bunch of messing around with it, finally came to the conclusion that the infrared sensors on the Kinect were interfering with the signal from the TV for the operation of the glasses. As soon as we threw a towel over the Kinect, all was good.

I do not wish to disconnect my Kinect, but I believe the system should be modified to turn off the kinect-infrared for the duration of the 3D content on screen.(even if a special notice screen must be displayed to letusers know that new users entering the
room will not be identified, but speech commands will still be enabled.)

As such, there would likely need to be a setup option such that the xbox_one would know whether a users 3D-TV used shutter glasses or not.

If nothing else, please add it to your troubleshooting guide for others that may have the issue and not be able to figure it out.

Kinect interferes with 3d glasses

Thought my rechargeable 3d glasses were goosed until I have just realised that the kinects infrared interferes with the signal from the telly to switch the glasses on. Looked at the kinect sensor guide which says this. USE WITH INFRARED DEVICES The Kinect
sensor may interfere with or degrade operation of infrared devices, including remote controls and 3D glasses. If you notice interference or reduced range, please try repositioning the Kinect sensor or infrared device. So how do they plan to run bluray 3d.
Surely the Xbox one needs a 3d feature that switches off kinects infrared. Regards mark

 

Xbox One Blu-Ray 3d Support

It should be noted that if your 3DTV uses active 3d glasses via an IR emitter, then you will have to DISABLE Kinect 2 because of IR interference. I noticed that Kinect 2 caused my 3D glasses to STOP working when I tried to watch a 3D movie on my 3DTV (via
a 3d Blu-ray player of course), I had to disable my XBOX One's Kinect to get the 3D glasses to work.
