    3d blu ray problems

My xbox one S no longer plays 3d blu ray movies. Any 3d blu ray movie fails to proceed past the trailers and blanks my display out with NO Signal.

I have not changed any hardware - xbox one s - provided hdmi cable, LG 4k TV - no recent firmware updates.

I've tried swapping cables, swapping hdmi ports all to no avail.

    :)

    3D Blueray Player Update

I updated my system about 1 hour ago and can not play Blu-ray 3d movies, what is says is

The Blu-ray disc requires a 3D Blu-ray player connected to a 3D display, your 3d Blu-ray player has not detected that it is connected to a 3d display. This may be due to a display capability or a equipment connection issue. please consult your 3d player
    manual.

I am running a new 3D led Samsung tv

    3d blu ray problems

After a LOT of troubleshooting, I've managed to find a temporary fix.

This works EVERYTIME on my LG 55UH8500 3d tv and Xbox one S:

Turn off 4k and hdr in settings, set display to 1080p - and all 3d blu ray discs play as expected.

I went to watch a 3D movie tonight and discovered the same exact thing. All of my 3D blu ray movies end up with a black screen followed by NO SIGNAL. Regular blu rays and DVDs play just fine. I tried dozens of 3D movies and they all do the same thing. I
also have an Xbox One S and an LG 4K TV.

Thank you AutumnsDad! I turned off 4K and HDR in the settings and they will play in this mode.

Microsoft, please fix this, it is a pain to change settings every time I want to watch a 3D movie.

My TV does the same. Starts the disc and plays all the 2d content, then when the 3d signal kicks in the TV loses the signal. If however I unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in again, the 3d image is displayed on the TV.

My TV is the LG OLED55E6T TV (firmware version 05.30.15

    Hi Xbox Team,

Come on guys this is still an issue. I've not posted about it for a while as I was hoping it would get fixed, but it's still an issue on Xbox One X (and possibly Xbox One S as well). There is a problem with the Xbox One X (and possibly S) switching TV's
from 4K output to 1080p 3D mode. I have posted a number of logs from my console also, but no action has been taken on this issue, and it's really really annoying. There is a workaround, but it's not acceptable. Please look into this and please fix.

This is 1000% repro, every single time! If you have the Xbox One X set to output at 2160p, which is my preference as I have a 4K 3D capable TV, insert a 3D BluRay disc, and when the Xbox One X tries to switch the TV to 3D 1080p output, the TV shows a loss
of signal, and it doesn't come back. The signal loss stays until the disc is ejected form the Xbox One X, at which point the 4K signal is restored and the homepage etc displayed.

Note if you put in a 3D BluRay disc that has a 2D menu i.e. the 3D signal isn't switch until the movie starts you won't see this issue until the Xbox One X tries to switch to 1080p 3D output.

I can repro this with any of my 3D BluRay discs. This never used to be an issue until an update that was made around 4 months ago when this issue was originally reported, by myself and many others.

Please see these threads below for other reports of the exact same issue, reported around the same time:

    xbox one x can't play 3d bluray

Xbox One X Blu Ray Issues

Xbox one s 3D bluray playback broken after latest system software update

3D no longer works on Blu Ray

Xbox one x 3d Blu Ray problem

Xbox One X 3D BlyRay Problem. Loss of HDMI signal when switch to 3D (Xbox One S doesn't do this)

I notice a lot of people reporting the issue have LG 4K 3D TV's, so maybe there is an incompatibility that has been introduced with the update 4 or so months ago, but it wasn't an issue before so isn't the fault of the LG TV's. For the record I have an LG
    55UH850V 4K 3D HDR TV.

    Many Thanks,

Received a number of system updates, and even a BluRay Player app update since, as it's still an issue. I've even had another LG 4K 3D TV user contact me, and they have the same problem. This is
an LG <-> Xbox One X/S specific issue it seems. Just got Last Jedi 3D today, and put it in, same old problem. The 2D menu presents itself, but as soon as I try and play
the movie, the Xbox One X tries to switch my TV out of 4K and to 3D HD mode, but I get no signal, as does everyone else it seems with an LG 4K
    3D TV?

Again I can work around this by disabling 4K output on my Xbox One X in the Settings to force a 1080p output for the home and guide etc. Then when I put in a 3D BluRay disc it
all works as it should, and the Xbox is able to switch my TV from 180p HD to 3D mode.

Please, please, please, can someone provide some feedback on this issue. I know it's been passed to the dev team for investigation, but nothing has happened to fix the issue, I've had no feedback at all, nor have any of the other LG
    users with the same problem.

Completely happy to have a 1 to 1 conversation on the phone or something to try and help resolve this issue for everyone.

Just a quick one to mention that as of today issue seems to be persist.

I have an LG Oled55E6 TV attached to an Xbox One X, both with latest firmware and updates and issue with 3D movies is still happening.

Can we expect a fix for this?

    Regards.

Will the Xbox One Support 3D Blu-Rays and 3D TV'S?

  14. TheSpiralMatrix Win User

Well the xbox one include 3D blu ray

Microsoft has only said it has a Blu Ray player in it. No info on if its a 3D ready blu ray drive or just standard

    -

And before anyone starts..... supporting 4K and 3D does not imply 3D Blu Ray ready Drive.

    -

the Xbox 360 supported 3D also
