3D Blu-ray movies no longer play in 3D mode

do not like the way xbox seems to be very quiet on this major issue ,i have tried everything unistalling,reinstalling,resetting,on the phone to support for hours,doing everything they say,still no fix,they seem to be going all round the issue to look for
other things other than xbox to blame this on,

i really dont think they want this getting out

Hey there everyone!

If you haven't already please try watching a 3D blu-ray again. Make sure your app is updated. If you're unsure if it has updated please uninstall it, power cycle your Xbox One, and re-download it. Let us know if you're still having trouble with your movies,

Woohoo!

3D playback has been restored. Downloaded the update for the Blu-ray player app and tried Monsters vs. Aliens and it now plays in 3D. Unfortunately I don't have time right now to test anything else but it looks like we have a fix.

Thank you Mister Maka for your help with this and I hope this fixes everyone else's problem.

I can confirm that this issue is now fixed. I tried Brave 3D and Ghosts of the Abyss 3D and they are both working as I would expect them to -- in 3D! Thank you for your awesome support.

i eat my words,this is a fix and 3d seems to work on the ones that did not work before,you have proved me wrong,you may be quite but you do listen and fix super fast,wow what support,now that you will want to come out,thankyou,i am now eating my words

I had a similar problem with 3d with my lg 4k tv and an Xbox one s. Changing the 4k setting on the Xbox to 8-bit worked for me to watch 3d blurays. I could change it back to 10 or 12 bit to watch non 3d discs.

almost same issue with me. 2 or of my 25 3D blu ray movies won't play. The whole screen good black only on those 2. Everything else works fine. And ALL 3D movie play fine on ps3. MS rep told me it's because Xbox one x is so powerful that the movies don't
meet the minimum system requirements . Seriously??

Try turning off 4K and HDR in the settings and set the video display to 1080p. This worked for me, but is a pain to keep switching back and forth every time I want to watch a 3D movie.

Issue still occurs for me. TV is LG OLED55E6T TV (firmware version 05.30.15).

When playing 3D blu-ray movies through the X-Box One S blu-ray app, it will play the 2d menus but as soon as the disc switches over to 3D mode, the picture is lost completely with the LG input can't be detected screen soon appearing thereafter. If I unplug
the HDMI cable from the TV and plug it back into the same input the TV will detect the video again.

I can confirm that with the Twitter Xbox Support they had me uninstall the app, do a full shutdown and restart of the console. A re-install of the Bluray application and the behaviour was the same. They then asked me to contact the Xbox Support Team by phone
or chat, so I did that, took them through all the steps I had done and they asked me to do a factory reset (keeping games and apps), I did that, and the behaviour was the same in my case.

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks a ton for the information on this. I've made sure to reach out to the appropriate team and we will be sure to reach out with additional information. In the mean time, if you haven't already tried the previously described
troubleshooting in this thread, please do so.

First uninstall the Blu-ray app, power cycle Xbox One (hold power button for 8-10 seconds until Xbox One powers off), and re-install Blu-ray app. If you manage to see any change after that please let us know, but we'll be sure to update you all when we have

Update... I tried playing a 3D movie and like everyone else here, it's only playing in 2D. However, when I switch inputs on my TV to something else and then switch it back to the Xbox input, the 3D signal is picked up by my TV and the movie plays as it
should -- in 3D.

Same issue is happening with me. 3D isn't working since Cortana update. LG TV. Put in disc on my ps4 hooked up to the same TV and it plays in 3d just fine (tried with wreck it Ralph and peanuts movie). This means issue is with XB1.

Please fix! I'd much rather play my movies on my xbox one! Much nicer menu interface.
