360s red screen w/new HDD?

I recently sold a HDD (new) to somebody on ebay [I had put in a console to test, and it worked fine], and got the following back:

"To whom may concern,The item that I received , is in damaged.The screen turns completely red. Thanks."

It was shipped in its original box inside a padded envelope, and was in working condition when I packed it. Has anybody here heard of this happening due to a funky HDD?

I'm Still Using An Original 20GB White XBOX 360 Pro [Bought In 2007 ??] Today & It's Never Had To Be Repaired or Physically Opened...

The Only Peripheral I Attached, Was A Hive Console Cooler & That Fixed The Red Ring Of Death... [Overheating Problems In White 360s]..

I've Bought, So Many Red Ring Of Death White 360s.. That Only Needed A New Cable... ROFL...

 

What are your most used classes/set ups?

Sleight of Hand Pro, Quickdraw Pro, and Dead Silence Pro

Red MK14 w/ red dot

MP9 w/ a silencer

Just send Xbox360 HDDs without testing them, as your console would of assigned your unigue console ID to new HDD, and it will not work on other consoles without format with your console serial number etc.

 

Ah. It does this automatically? I never formatted the drive in mine. And still, would it cause the Red Screen of Doom? My research since I posted this originally seems to indicate otherwise.

 

Official HDDs are factory pre-formatted to work with Xbox360, and will assign itself with console ID when installed, as they are not like External USB Drives needing to be reformatted before use.

 

A faulty HDD can be indicated by Red Screen, as dashboard system files can become defragmented or cause corrupted file heirachy, and crash while rendering etc.
