360 to cable box to xone

I'm trying to hook up my 360 through my cable box and then to my xone. I know you can do something similar with just the 360 to xone but I'm not sure about my hook up.

Pic of what I'm talking about. That's my cable box. Everything else is standard. Cable to box, box to xbox, xbox to tv. Just trying to insert 360 to cable box. Am I just gonna need to tie 360 to one and leave out the cable box?

Xbox One Passthrough work when off?

According to what kind of cable box you have. Most have multiple output ports in the back. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if I use one of the ports to go to my XOne and the other out port on my cable box to go to my TV...could I not just switch sources
on my tv and watch tv w/o the XOne being on?

Mine has no HDMI ports. It has S-Video, Cable out, and AV ports. I had to buy an expensive converter to convert the av to HDMI so I can plug into my XOne. Right now my cable box is plugged into tv by the cable out port. Could I not leave that the way it
is and just plug the upconverted av into the XOne?

 

Hi there tiamat89 with the xbox ones hdmi in port you plug your 360 into the console and keep your cable box hooked up to your tv if theres room.

 

The only problem is that Tiamat89's
screenshot (hyperlinked now) shows it is not using an HDMI cable. If you are trying to run the 360 to the One using the component cables you would need a Component/HDMI adapter. My question to you though is if you are running your 360 into your cable box,
are you just using a switch to flip between inputs (360 or Cable)? If this is the case, then you should be able to take your cable box out video/audio and feed it in to your Xbox One. While you are on the Xbox One you would just use the TV app and then use
the switch to alternate between the Xbox 360 and Cable. If this doesn't answer your question can you give clarification on the following:

- What cable is running from your 360 output to your cable box input?

- What cable is running from your cable box output to your Xbox One input?

- If the 360 is running into the cable box, how do you alternate the TV display?

I have both hd component cables and hmdi so I could use either.(360)

- I had hd component going from 360 to the cable box.

- I had a hdmi going from cable cable box to xone.

- That seems to be the problem I can't see a way to change to the 360 though the cable box. I have the component cable ports on the box but I don't see a way to switch to them.

 

Are you able to take a level screenshot of the back of the cable box? If there are video/audio IN on the cable box I would think there would have to be some way to swap inputs.

The issue might be that you had the conponent cables going between outputs on both the 360 and the cable box. I don't think a cable box would have an input as it generates the signal and has no reason to receive one.

For the One, you can only do HDMI pass through with one device, either your cable box or the 360. The other device will have to be on another input on the TV. On the plus side, you'll only need the 360 for another couple of months with backwards compatibility.

Looking at the cable box it looks like those are video/audio OUTs not INs. Plugging your 360 in there won't give you any option to display the 360. As Toad mentioned, it looks like this is going to be your only option.
