360 Thumb Sticks on Xbox One Controller

The feel and how it functions is great! But the way how it vibrates toooooooooooooo strongly in your hands especially for kids, ouch fzfzzzzz.

 

Can't you disable the vibration on the X1 controller like the 360? The vibration drains your battery like hell especially if you're playing Borderlands 2 using Moxxi's guns. My girlfriend loved those guns.. I wonder why. The vibration got annoying eventually
doe so I just completely turned off the vibration.

 

@Feed, that controller is a 360 controller, you said it was wearing on the xbox one controller

If you can't clearly see its a one controller then i don't know what to tell you.

 

^^Omg what are you all doing to those controllers. Almost a year of use and mine looks nothing like that.

Wish i knew merlin,no rougher on these than i was on the 360..

My 360 ones don't have a single mark on them and they are 7+ years old ,and they went through some crazy gears marathons .

Will be making the switch soon..Or i might just wait till the one sticks snap off..

 

Less than a year old there still under warranty.

 

I didn't read all the post here but I can tell you I have tried to use them they do not fit. The only way you could make them work is by cutting of the plastic skirt part only. Then use some sand paper to make sure there is no rough edges. By to go through
all that I don't see the point and I have done it by cutting it off but haven't sand papered it yet it still barley fits like the part that needs to hit the sizes if not low enough. I may be able to make it work but you are better off order special made ones
like scuf concave sticks. Just look online for sticks that will fit.

Funny but I think you can not understand the difference of the controller.

You take some old outdated one and try to compare them.

Does not work and the construction of the Xbox One controller are so different to the 360 comparing them makes no sense.

What you see as "wearing out" is what makes the sticks more and faster moveable.

Sorry to disappoint you mister machine but you have to do your homework better.

Imagine to the end next time and maybe use some geometry then you will see where you got it wrong.

This way you can see it visual and not just read about it.

Go and try the controller.

Check the controller sticks for speed and accuracy.

The Xbox One will clearly win.

Maybe you just dont see it cause YOU dont need it but it is there and I appreciate this feature very much.

I would love if Xbox keeps improving the Xbox by going forward not backwards.

Better take the Xbox One controller as base to make a better one then the 360.

They took all good parts form the 360 and added better ones.

I keep saying this if you are not used to it keep trying out other controller layouts and be surprised

 

Let me explain it easy.

You move the 360 so it hits the edges of the ring its in.

Well you have to do it on the 360 to get the accuracy.

With the Xbox One controller you do not need to touch the edges to get the same accuracy out of it.

Yes you can do that and use it but then you wont get the great movement out of it.

All games are working with this.

So usually you would notice that after a while playing.

You would notice the moving of the sticks is more smooth.

As better you get in the game as less you will touch the edges, as more accurate you will play.

You know what else is cool?

Game developers already make use of this.

You know what else?

This trains your handiness way better then a 360 controller.

I mean its all pretty logic I do not understand why you dont see it.

 

xbox1 sticks are pure garbage for FPS.

 

I'm going through my second controller since Day One. The right stick on both controllers lead. As of two days ago the better of the two is having input fails on the A button. That's half as long as my 360 controllers lasted. I will be buying the Elite
in hopes the hype is true about its durability.

I made that video to show the xbox one controller sticks literally eroding away ,,which is quite clear in the video ..

I also have shown my 360 thumb sticks which have no such erosion after 7 years of use..

I now have 5 controllers ,,2 don't get used ,,the sticks literally get hung up on the eroded parts and like darth pointed out ,the buttons sometimes just don't register as being pushed ..

I still have no understanding of what you are trying to say to me?????

 

Feed: I see your point in the video.

The protruding shaft of the thumbsticks bottoms out along the inner circle of the opening in the top clamshell of the controller, and thus rubs a grove into the thumbstick itself. Which in my view will cause particles of sanded plastic to fall through the
opening and, along with other things will buildup on the X1 controllers PCB and cause all sorts of problems.

I don't have an X1 controller for comparision, and so must rely on your vid in order to do so. But the 360 controllers also rubs along the opening.

Only difference is. It does so along the very top of the thumbstick where it's thickest and also the opening is beveled away from the thumstick which as far as I can tell. Helps to prevent grinding away of the shaft of the thumbsticks.

My 360 controller is 5 plus years old, and does show a little wear along those edges. But nowhere near as bad as the X1 controller in your vid.
