360 Slim overheating, warranty over

So i bought my 360 S when they first came out, 250gb, and recently started shutting down to prevent damage from overheating. Turns on for about 5 mins and shuts down again. I looked up what I could, moved it to a cooler place, tried cleaning it as much as
I could, but didn't change a thing. So I looked on the internet more, and people suggested opening the xbox and/or the power block and cleaning their internal fans. So I opened each, cleaned the impressive amount of dust on both of the fans. However, after
all that, the same overhearing problem continues. I'm not sure what to do, so I'm posing this question. I think after opening the xbox I cannot send it in, so I could use some help, if anyone has any. Thanks in advance

By doing this above, voids your 360 Slims Warranty...

Warranty, Is only valid to XBOX 360 Slim & Slim Accessories.. [ie Slim HDD]

yea sadly i'm way past the 30 days gamestop gives as a warranty. gotta open up the console to check the warranty sticker, right?

i thought the slim was supposed to prevent overheating? if thats the case, something really got messed up in there.

By opening the Xbox 360 console, it is no longer eligible to be repaired at the servicing center. According to the Exclusions From Service section on the Terms and Conditions for repair:

Microsoft reserves the right to refuse Service on Xbox Products that are:... (3) opened, modified, or tampered with.

My suggestion is to get another Xbox 360.

 

also to add what held said self repair discussion is not allowed on the forums so nobody will be able to help you with that so held is correct your only option is to buy a new 360 sorry.
