  1. 360 Slim HDD question.

I would like to be able to use two HDD's. One for all the Digital Games FREE with Gold, And another with the games I have on disk. 30 of 'em to date.

You know, pop out one. Play GwG titles, and when I need to take it out and replace it with the one I would use with my gamedisks w/o loosing my gamertag info etc.

My concern is. Will both HDD's be recognized under my XBL account? .

    :)

HDD transfer from slim to slim

Right now I have a xbox 360 slim 250Gb hdd. I plan on buying the Gears 3 320GB HDD console in September. I already have a transfer kit, becuase I transferred from my previous 120gb hdd to my 250 slim now. My questions is how does this work going from a
slim console to another slim console. Before I hooked up the cable to my new slim and the other end to my old HDD. But with 2 slims, my old HDD is inside my slim console. Just a little confused on how to do a transfer from a slim console to another slim because
of the internal HDD. Any ideas?

^^Not sure why you said no. But what the OP asks for is entirely possible. Put your profile on a USB stick and swap HDD as you please. It would work the same way as if you had two separate xbox 360s and used both.

  5. Yes. I have a black slim and if you remove the vent on the right side of the console, you can remove the hard drive. I have 2 250 GB hard drives that me and my kids switch out all the time. You just download your profile to the new hard drive and switch
em out seamlessly. Never had a problem.

  6. I have tried using my current HDD on my back up 360 console. My profile is there, but my GwG digital H3 game will not play on it.

So how exactly do you upload your profile to USB and then place it onto another HDD?

Sorry to have to ask, but I am not PC/Console savvy, and am afraid of goofing it up.

  7. Here's what I did. I took the new HDD and inserted it into my console. Downloaded my profile to the new HDD. It should prompt you to download your profile to the new HDD. If it doesn't, press the middle guide button, go to the HOME tab and there should be
an option to download profile. Once your profile is on the new HDD, from the DASHBOARD home, scroll to the far right and choose SETTINGS. Go to ACCOUNT and choose LICENSE TRANSFER. After the licenses are transferred to the new HDD select DOWNLOAD HISTORY
which is located right above where you chose LICENSE TRANSFER. Find Halo 3 or whatever you want on the new HDD and download it again. This process may take awile, depending on how much content you intend to re-download. Hope this helps.

  8. 360 Slim HDD question.

@ElectroFlying was your back up console connected to the internet? Only the console with the license on it can play a digital game offline. If you are on another console you must be connected to Xbox live to play any digital game. It is so strict it will
give you a 15 minuted countdown before stopping the game if you get disconnected while playing it. If you switch between consoles regularly the license transfer won't work, there is a limited amount of times you can do it, once every four months.

  9. Hmmm. I have 2 250 GB HDD's and I can play all my games (digital or not) offline and on. Me and my kids switch 'em out on a daily basis with no problems.

  10. @ Nemesis: I'm not sure, and I am not going to get the back-up console out of the closet again to find out. I really shouldn't have opened it to begin with.

So, if I hear everyone correctly. I can only play my "free to own" Games with Gold as long as my current Console holds up?

That's good to know. Now, I'll have to search around and find the GwG titles I want to actually keep FOR LIFE on disk. Never expected that.
