360 self reboot

    360 self reboot


    My 360 slim is constantly rebooting itself upon start up. It turns on and loads the dashboard for about 5 secs then i hear a click everything freezes and it reboots and repeats the process over and over again. Console will work and issue doesnt occur if
    not logged into xbox live. Does anyone know why this is happening or a fix for it?

    Xbox Console self-reboots on notification

    I've had my XB1 since Day One and have had no issues until the last 2 nights.

    Both nights, after about an hour of playing Destiny, an Xbox notification banner starts to appear (someone in my friends list has signed on) but the banner animation freezes before it's completely done. I can still play the game, as normal, for about 15-30
    seconds but then the console reboots. After the reboot all appears to be normal.

    Does this happen for every notification? I can't be for certain as I don't get very many notifications to begin with and I will certainly be aware of this from now on.

    Searching this issue online reveals the most common reason for a self-reboot of XB1 is an over-heating problem. But, I have my console in the same spot for over 2 years with no issues and the odds of the console overheating twice in 2 days at the very moment
    a notification arrives is just too coincidental.

    Has anyone else seen this behavior with notifications? Thanks.

    I haven't seen this, but it does seem like a pretty big coincidence that it's happened twice when a notification appears. If possible, can you try logging in with a different account to see if you run into the same thing?

    If it doesn't happen with a different account, or if you can't try with another account, try removing your profile and redownloading it. Make sure you know the email and password for your account, then go to Settings, Account, Remove accounts and remove
    yours. Then open the guide, go up, then left to Add & manage and put your account information in.

    If you're still running into this, run a network test and multiplayer connection test in Settings, Network, Network settings to see if you get any error messages. I wouldn't think your issue is caused by network issues, but they can cause weird things to
    happen.

    If you don't have any network issues, try turning your console off from the guide, then unplugging it for 5 minutes. If you still run into this, I would next try a reset of your console. Go to Settings, System, Console info & updates, then Reset console.
    Try the option to keep your games and apps first, then if that doesn't work, do the full one.

    If none of that works, you may have a hardware issue that will require a repair. You can start the repair process at

    360 self reboot

    Try removing all peripherals (HD's etc) from the console and start it up. If the console starts then add one device at a time until the problem happens again. That will probably be the device that is causing the issue.

    Tried the above to no avail. Only happens when signed ibto xbox live. Cab okay games and use console fine when offline though. Started after i started downloading dean island in games for gold, could it be a corrupt game file or update?

    That's a possibility. Try checking the file to see if it says corrupted. Another option may be to contact phone support as there may be an issue with the console itself.

    Please ignore the previous message, my console just rebooted its self & is now downloading an update... Which will fix the issue.
