360 s with 250 hard drive turns its self off?

360s was fine until i got gtaV and added the 250 hard drive. now every day in the morning when i turn it on it shuts its self off with one quick beep then 3 green flashing lights then its off . the thing is i turn it back on right away, then it
shuts it self off again. ok so about the 5th or 6th time i turn it on it stays on all day no problem ... i did a lot of research on this thing. first thing it is not an overheating problem because it turns off when its cool and stays on after its warmed up.
i think it has something to do with the hard drive because thats when it started happening. i cleared catch to and it still does it .. took hard drive out and put it back in .. couple months later i just roll with it.. i know every morning that its gonna
turn off 6 times first then i can play it all day fine. I'm going ps4 for sure next.

Xbox 360 hard drive authenticity

Just curious to find out if my hard drive is an authentic Microsoft hard drive. Its a 250 GB hard drive for the 4GB 360 S. It did come with a code to download a free game. The code worked. If anyone could give me an idea if the hard drive is authentic or
tell me how to find out, that would be much appreciated. Thanks

Where did you purchase the hard drive from? If it was not from an official games retailer and from an online source (such as ebay or amazon) then there is a possibility that it is a 3rd party device which are not officially supported and could be causing
the issue you are speaking of.

 

its from gamestop the 250 hard drive, i needed it to play gtaV and ghosts, witch is ridiculous also. ;( i was forced to get the hard drive , that messed up my system , now they think I'm gonna buy xbox one ..no way . also the original brick did go ou, the
new brick i got is from ebay.

 

Ok, I was way off here. Your issue may be from the brick. Again, when purchasing items from online sites such as ebay or amazon you may not be purchasing an official Xbox item (even though it may be labelled as such). Often online retailers will slap
on a sticker that says official on a 3rd party device.

It may be that the power brick you purchased is not the same type or does not offer the power requirements for your console.

I would recommend contacting the seller to arrange a return and purchase one from the repair page on the support site or the Microsoft Store.
