    Error: must have Xbox 360 hard drive to play Destiny

    The hard drive requirement is mentioned on the packaging and in the digital product description with "(NOTE: Xbox 360 Hard Drive is required. USB Storage is not supported.)" The reason that many of the newer and larger games are requiring an actual hard
    drive is because of the transfer speeds a hard drive offers over a flash drive.

    As for going so far as to call it "extortion" you have to remember that MS had nothing to do with the development of Destiny to implement the hard drive requirement. And with the business relationship the Destiny franchise has with Sony right now, I doubt
    Bungie would offer MS that luxury if it was avoidable, especially considering the loss in their own sells they might face with the requirement.

    The reason the Kinect is required to be plugged in has nothing to do with us as consumers, but everything to do with the developers. The Kinect is required because it gives developers comfort in the fact that they'll know that every Xbox One will have it.
    On the Xbox 360, developers weren't always sure if they should make a game that doesn't use the Kinect, if the Kinect should improve their game, or if the game should be Kinect required. The reason they weren't sure is because they also weren't sure who had
    a Kinect & who didn't. Now that the Kinect comes with every console and is required, the developers of games can more comfortably move forward on those decisions knowing that their sales will be secure regardless of which choice they make. Regardless of what
    choice they make (no Kinect, Kinect-improved, or Kinect-required), in the end, it benefits us as consumers through the development of better games overall...

    Xbox 360 Game Creation Software/Unity Module?

    To my understanding, the Unity game development software (by default) allows you to compile your game for Xbox 360 (among many other consoles) for free.

    However, getting it to run on your Xbox 360 console will likely require a developer account and access to the proper SDK's.

    What if, sony requires a 1080P output, like the 360 did at its launch. The 360 required a minimum of 1280x720 with 2xAA. Microsoft lets the developers do what they want now, so what if we get better textures and more AA and the PS4 gets slightly worse
    textures and no AA.

    Just a thought.

    It's new. The 360 has had developers working on it for over 5 years. A little patience will be required. There is a lot more to come. You think this is basic. Take a look at the PS4 home screen.

    Using your same argument you have to take into account how popular the Xbox 360 is. The Xbox developers have a vision that they have said requires a connected Xbox, I guess if a person doesn't like that or can't meet that requirement they are more than
    willing to move forward without them.
