    Backwards compatibility question

    You can login, make sure you are logged into a profile on your xbox one, then hit the back and start (view and menu) buttons in x360 mode... That brings up the option to sign into profiles and download profiles.

    Even if you use another xbox 360 it should let you login to a xbox 360 profile and it should just say it was last signed in on another system. I'd make sure you are signed into a profile, if you are trying splitscreen stuff make sure your friend signs into his xbox one profile before then signing into his xbox 360 profile.

    Awkward, but it works. Been busting up borderlands splitscreen in bc for a couple days.

    Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

    It sounds like you created an offline profile on your 360 for your partner. Unless it's an online profile with a unique associated email address, you won't be able to transfer it across. Your profile transferred, but your partners isn't attached to it, it's separate and offline on the 360.

    I'd look at trying to convert the offline profile on your 360 to an online one, associate an email with it, then load that up in the One.

    The 360s had what were called offline profiles.

    These are profiles that do not require a MS account these were only available on the 360 on the One they require xbox profiles with MS accounts.

    If you never got with the 360 and never set your 360 profile up with a MS account then here is a support article that will instruct you in how to turn the offline profile into an online profile.

    360 signing me out for no apparent reason. Help please?

    If your profile is on another 360 and you get signed in on that 360 (say it gets switched on and your profile is set to auto sign in) then your account on your 360 will be signed out.

    If you know this is not the case then your profile maybe corrupt so it might be worth deleting it (profile only) and re downloading it again onto your 360.
