    360 not using all of allotted speed

    I have both an Xbox 360 and an XB1.

    Prior to two days ago, my ISP was allowing me 2mbps download and 1mbps upload. I tested these speeds we are paying for with positive results on both systems - the ISP was delivering what they claimed (2d/1u). However, these speeds were too slow for my
    satisfaction and I upgraded (for free) to a 30mbps D/3mbps U package. Again, I tested these speeds using the IE app on both systems. The site used for testing is bandwidthplace.com. Interestingly, while my XB1 now tested at 29.5D and 3.5U (same as my mobile
    phone that runs wireless through the router), the X360 showed results of only 5D and 3U. I tested this, on both systems, dozens of times with similar results, sometimes only minutes apart.

    Both systems are hardwired to a Linksys router, which then goes to the **** modem supplied by my ISP. The cell phone is the only device accessing the router through its wireless feature. I have tried manually switching the port slot of the systems, figuring
    the 2nd slot of my router might be damaged or slow to respond in some way, causing a slower connection to whatever is connected to it (the 360 at the time). However, my XB1 was able to achieve speeds at the highest level on the same port my 360 was previously
    connected to.

    I have spoken with XBL customer support with no solution being found. They were perplexed and could not imagine why one system would have almost 4 times the download speed of the other. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Some other info: all of the 360's network settings are set to default. I have reset them to "factory settings" without any benefit. The 360 is approximately 4 years old. I have NOT tried any "port forwarding" techniques. Please help if you can. Thanks
    for reading.

    :)

    Odd Connection Problem?

    This sounds like it could be a network bandwidth problem, where the Xbox is not being allotted enough bandwidth to be able to perform some or all operations. Using the Xbox LIVE service, it is strongly recommended to use a broadband or high-speed ISP (Internet
    Service Provider). You may want to see what you can do to speed up your network.

    GFWL Marketplace - An unknown error has occurred when retrieving keys

    A bit of follow-up.

    It looks like whatever server MS is using isn't responding at all:

    Error General Failed to retrieve game activation key. {Exception: {Type: System.TimeoutException} {Message: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:00:59.7367808. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request
    or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.}

    Which looks like it's this URL:

    {Message: The HTTP request to 'services.gamesforwindows.com/.../MarketPlacePublic.svc& has exceeded the allotted timeout of 00:01:00. The time allotted
    to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.}

    360 not using all of allotted speed

    Let me add that I am NOT interested in using both consoles at the same time, and that any information regarding how to best achieve multiple-systems-play will most likely not be helpful. I simply want both consoles to utilize the ISP provided bandwidth
    to the fullest extent possible while I use either of them at a time. If I am going to use one system, I will have the other powered off. thanks
