360 immulator for xbox one release date??

Thus it isn't emulation in the traditional sense.

Having said that. I feel that this is but the beginning of things to come.

 

How is that not emulation in the traditional sense? It's exactly how people have been making emulators for years, they replicate the hardware in software.

 

Can't answer that at this point in time Vaynel.

However, I tend to think outside the box, and remember well how everyone said. "Emulation can't be done on X86..." And now. "Emulation/Emulate" are the main talking points to X1's BC???

Forgive me. But I'm simply not buying into those talking points.

Who has ever said that emulation can't be done on x86 hardware? People have been making them, and running them, on that hardware for years.

However what people have been saying is that the One wasn't powerful enough to emulate the 360, as emulating more modern systems tends to require a fairly decent PC. Microsoft have shown people that it is quite possible on a more modest system.

Like I said.. I pay no never mind to talking points, and tend to be more of free thinker.

 

Well all I can say Electro that people saying it couldn't be emulated on x86 hardware were idiots.

As to people saying the One wasn't powerful enough to emulate the 360 go to emulation forums to find them, to say Microsoft pulling this off has sent them into a hissy fit is something of an understatement.

Being a free thinker doesn't mean you need to ignore facts though. Microsoft are emulating the 360.

 

Anyone use a virtual drive in their pc? It acts exactly like a regular disk drive. The 360 and X1 are basically made up of software and they will live together within a hardware shell. It's like a person...body that you can see (hardware), spirit that
you can't see (software). They managed to put two spirits into one body, so essentially the X1 is going to be "possessed". *Throws holy water*

Even when discussing Xbox etc.

 

It is emulation. The 360 games aren't remakes, the X1 is emulating the 360..... Simple as that.

I was simply trying to find a metaphorical way to describe what MS did, not to get into a topic about religious beliefs.

During E3 and soon after. Wasn't it said that when you placed a 360 gamedisc into a BC X1 that you still had to DL the game in order to play it, and that if using a gamedisc you had to keep the disc in the Optical drive?

So even though they really aren't "remakes." Even if you have the disc, the game has to be DL (Digitally - W codex for requiring disc to be present) in order to play them right?

 

I'd imagine that is an issue with reading dual layer dvd's that the 360 games come on, could be wrong but in don't think the X1 blu-ray drive can.

Like I said, I'm not 100% sure.
