360 hard drive questions!

I was wondering if a brand new external hard drive would be compatible with a xbox 360 elite. Also, I have a second xbox 360 slim, 2009 model. It has a 60gb harddrive in it, but it's really thin and you see the interior of it. Can I just pull it out or does
it still have the click in position in there?

Xbox 360 ask's for a WEP key for my wireless but my network is WPA2?

The hard drive is from an older slim 360... Nothing on the console in question has been modded, I am simple using a bigger hard drive.

I'd been doing research, and I found out that you need an official Xbox hard drive for backwards compatibility. That being said, one of my questions is, which Xbox 360 has an "official Xbox Hard Drive," (is it the first Xbox 360-250 GB black touch sensitive
Xbox 360). And my second question is, is it possible to play the Matrix Path of Neo and all original Xbox games on an Xbox 360 with the official Xbox Hard drive?

 

You can use an external hard drive with the 360, but currently you can only use up to 32gb of space for 360 storage. There is an update coming that will allow you to use more.

There are no official 60gb hard drives for the Slim. They only come in 250gb, 320gb, and 500gb. So it's hard to tell exactly how that hard drive is used in your Slim, but if it's in the slot on the bottom of the console you should be able to pull it out.

 

So if I got a 500gb external hard drive, I could only use 32gb from it? Huh.

Really? Well It just seems really slim so I guess I'll try pulling it out then. I was asking because I didn't know if I might ruin something inside.

 

yeah, until the update is released to the public it's only possible to use 32gb of space no matter how big the hard drive is. The update is available for people in the preview program so it may be released in the next couple of months.
