    360 games without a card account on Xbox One


    Why can I no longer download Xbox 360 games onto my Xbox One without a card attached to my Xbox profile? Also, I have the necessary funds attached to my Xbox account but I'm still not allowed to buy Xbox 360 games? This is harsh and unfair and DEFINITELY
    wasn't always the case.

    hi guys. I have a similar question:

    I dont have a credit card, and have a xbox one with agold account. Is there a way to download the 360 games without a credit card or a 360 console?

    because thegames are shown on the xbox one store but have a message saying they can only be bought on a bundle

    Buying backward compatible games

    If you buy one of those Xbox cards coming in various denominations ala apple or Google play, you can purchase Xbox one games on your Xbox one WITHOUT a credit card. BUT if you buy an Xbox 360 game on the Xbox one you CANNOT use the Xbox cards you have to
    use a credit card. Why?

    The 360 store is set up differently than the One store. The store on the One has never been updated to use a Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for 360 content. The only way to do so would be through a 360 console. It actually has always

    Xbox 360 games require a credit card to be redeemed through the website or Xbox One, even if it's free, the only way to do it without a credit card is if you do it through an Xbox 360.

    Unfortunately Xbox 360 game purchases can't be completed on an Xbox One console or at Xbox.com without having a payment method such as a debit/credit card registered to your account. One you have done this it should allow you to complete the Xbox 360 games
    with gold purchase without charge.

    If you try to complete this purchase on an Xbox 360 console you will not need to register another payment method.

    Please note not all Xbox Live Gold subscriptions (typically trial subscriptions) include Xbox 360 games with gold games.
