360 Games to Xbox One Games

How do I know which games I can upgrade to my new Xbox One so I don't have to rebuy them? Is their a list online or anything?

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Xbox One

I have played the a game to death both on the 360 and the Xbox one. One of my all time favourite games.

EA Titles RRP is £54.99

It looks like these prices are basically the same as the xbox 360

Looking at Blockbuster - they list most games with an RRP of £49.99. EA games have an RRP of £54.99

None, I don't believe any games on the 360 work on Xbox One, there are games like Pinball FX where you can import tables, or games like Diablo 3 where you can import your characters.

You can check the publisher's websites for any upgrade information as well. Some games have had offer to upgrade for free, but they are for a limited time. So you will need to check for expirations on when those offers end.

The Destiny offer ended in January and GTA does not offer an upgrade deal.

I know some shops here in the UK use to offer upgrades for a small cost.

Example, Battlefield 4 Xbox 360 - Battlefield 4 Xbox One ...

I think though that these deals have ended now. Mind you might be some stores where you can trade in that offer some sort of deal.

None. You MAY get a deal if you go into a game shop. Other then that you must buy the upgraded games.

Your progress with carry over for a handful of games but you will still need to BUY the game for the XB1

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will upgrade for free from 360 to X1 on digital editions only. The offer expires March 31, 2015.

^I was about to mention that, but that came out right in the middle of the Xbox One's release so I think it benefitted them a lot of have that deal in that period of time.

You will most likely find that due to a lot of the 'remakes' having new content they don't offer direct upgrades because they believe it's an entirely new game (this is the general feeling I've gotten anyway). Though as others have said, maybe check with
your local retailers if they have any deals as I don't think you'll find too many digital upgrades anymore.

Xbox does not have anything to do with the licensing for the games. The game developers control the license for the game. If the game developer wants to let that 360 game playable on the Xbox One, the developer is the one that will allow it.

The 360 emulator is already built into the Xbox One to allow 360 games to work on the Xbox One.

If they were downloaded via an Xbox One/Series console you can't play these games on an Xbox 360. Firstly the drive wouldn't be configured for an Xbox 360. Secondly, Xbox 360 games downloaded via an Xbox One or Series X|S are actually 360 games that have been converted to run on an Xbox One, they are no longer native Xbox 360 games.

I'm doubt too that Xbox One BC will support all Xbox 360 games, so just keep your Xbox 360 for Xbox 360 games and use your Xbox One for Xbox One games.

You will need to buy Xbox One games, as the Xbox One is not backwards compatible. Xbox 360 games will not work on the Xbox One, and Xbox One games will not work on the 360. Sorry!
