So, with all of the fuss regarding backwards compatibility, I thought of an idea (albeit a simple one). Most of us know that if you already own Minecraft for the 360, you'll only have to pay $5 for the Xbox One Edition of the game. What if MS or the publishers
instituted a similar plan for many of the other games made on the previous console (with varying price models depending on the size, popularity, and age of the game: $5, $10, or $15) - this could potentially help circumvent developer costs to update their
older games to next-gen and wouldn't cost as much as making their games from scratch since a lot of the resources are already there. It won't be true backwards compatibility because they'll effectively be remakes or ports, but I think it would be an idea that
    might work.

Do you think this is a good or even plausible idea? Why or why not?

    :)

Xbox 360 to XB1 digital discount offer

Well it worked. I purchased the 360 digital version for $19.95 then got the XB1 digital version for $6.65. Normal digital price is $26.95.

Even better if you buy skin and texture packs on the 360 you get them for free on XB1. They are also cheaper on 360.

I reckon this will be my go to game when one of my disc based games is updating or installing.

Xbox 360 to XB1 digital discount offer

Thanks. I'm looking at getting it for my son on 360 and for me on XB1. Was thinking if I login and play on the 360 as me first, then buy digitally on XB1, then hand over to my son on 360. If I do it that way I end up with both versions for about the same
price as XB1 due to the 360 version being cheaper for the physical copy.

I would support it, I was playing Ninja Gaiden 3 RE a couple of nights ago, and I would love a version of it on the Xbox One, I would happily contribute. It's a pain having to switch consoles, and it's irritating having to get used to the controller again,
and then readjust back to the One controller.

    -

Edit = Some games could be put into deals with gold, not for free, but fairly priced.

I think it's a good idea for games like Minecraft( saves carry over),but to have a big wave of old titles (even at a lower price) isn't what i'm looking for a new console....

Some indies titles are already old games (and more to come) and big publishers already makes those "HD remakes" (usually at a lower price).....

I think they already got the idea.

  6. Indie titles really old, Tzar? If you're referring to how they use classic graphics/gameplay, that doesn't make them "old" - it makes them old school. 360 Games for Cheap on XB1 ;)

As far as having a lot of 360 games on the One, I would welcome it as it would simply give us more choices, which the common consumer has shown us is always a good thing. In other words, I'm not saying in doing so they would sacrifice giving new, original,
and popular IPs through Indie and AAA titles, just that these would be adding to it with older games they know we already love and appreciate.

I'd pay $5 or $10 to have a few games like red dead on my xbox one so I could get rid of my 360 but I'm not sure if developers would want to invest the time to port games over for a portion of $5. Minecraft is a little different.....but I would be all for
    it if they did.

I would rather developers focus on making new games instead of dedicating resources to porting old games. B/C is only a real issue now because of the lack of games. 2 years from now you wont care.

I tend to agree with this, although not 100%... I see no problem with things like TMCC. Maybe just the really big titles like the GOW series... they could even do it as the 'Fenix'
collection just to keep Judgment from stinking it up. That and a Mass Effect collection maybe. Just as long as they're not porting over half the games ever made, it wouldn't be bad.

  11. If Microsoft can convince some more developers to follow the Master Chief Collection format. I would invest money into something like that for popular games from the 360. I just picked up the Ghost Recon Trilogy for 360. It
    was $22 at GameStop used.

I would think that pumping out some of these bundled game pack might infuse some money to developers to use on next gen projects. Just like some people are pumped to be able to play Halo 2, again. I would love to have the chance
to play Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell, while those developers make progress towards a true next gen title. Since a new titles for those two series would be a long way off.

And going by the last Preview Update, with the ability now for bundled collections. I think we will be seeing more bundles like the Master Chief collection. This may also be an safe way to get some folk into a digital game buying.
If there are titles out there in the Store, that you have played and enjoyed. Why wouldn't they lay down some money on those? And keep them as long as they have the console. Maybe even look into a way to start carrying each generation of games forward to
    the next.

  12. Hello everyone 360 Games for Cheap on XB1 :)

I would definitely support it (more specifically, $10 for disc based Xbox 360 games), but developers shouldn't compromise the development of new games / titles just to pump these out. They should focus on the new games / titles first 360 Games for Cheap on XB1 :)

I think that it's a good idea. This would be really good for those people that didn't purchase an Xbox 360, but purchased an Xbox One, and would like to play the remakes from the previous system.

  15. ^Agreed

I would much rather have new games come out. I'm not even really excited about the Master Chief Collection, I might wait for it to go on sale since, I already played most of the Halos and I am no longer really into multiplayer games like Cod. Only GCI at
    the moment.
