    360 Game Discs Not Working On Xbox One


    My xbox one refuses to read xbox 360 discs that are part of the program. Half of them make a grinding noise and its getting a bit ridiculous since I don't want to buy the same games digitally. Any known fixes at all?

    xbox one games do not read but other discs do

    xbox one discs do not read on my console and produces a notice saying to clean my discs despite there beimng nothing wrong with them and some are brand new. the strange thing is that it is only xbox one discs. dvds and xbox 360 games do work. what do I have
    to do to get my xbox one games working again?

    Hi all. All my Xbox 360 discs are not running at all. I was able to play Mirror's Edge on my Xbox One a couple of weeks ago but now all Xbox 360 are not read by the Xbox One console with the error code 0x80820002. Xbox One game discs, blu-ray movies and
    audio CDs are being played perfectly. At the moment I have 3 Xbox 360 discs: Mirror's Edge, Witcher 2, Fallout 3. All are perfectly clean and physically fine. But none of them is working. Any help?

    360 Game Discs Not Working On Xbox One

    I would suggest going to your local game store and asking them to test it. If it works contact Xbox support and see about a warranty claim. if it doesn't work most gamestores will resurface games for a small fee.

    Hey G0dSlave22.

    A grinding noise certainly isn't normal. Do you only get this sound with Xbox 360 titles or do you notice it with Xbox One games as well? If you haven't already can you try a different Xbox One disc to see if there is any change?

    I can play xbox one discs and blu rays with no problem. This big one is Halo Wars that sounds like its being ripped apart in my console. I just didn't know if it was an issue regarding the game not working fully yet on xbox one or not

    360 Game Discs Not Working On Xbox One

    Hi, I know this is an old post but was looking up on 360 game discs not working on Xbox 1 as I have a similar issue at moment.

    No 360 game discs work at all on my Xbox 1, I do not get a noise though.

    All Xbox one game discs and blue ray work with no problems at all just can’t get backward compatible game discs to work.

    I have tried on a friends console and they work but not on mine. Strange as all other Xbox one games work fine & no other problems with console. maybe a fault somewhere after an update as they worked before up until 2 months ago now none work. Game discs
    not scratched and been checked & made sure clean.

    Any help please?

    XBOX 360

    The compatibility for discs and games only works backwards, not forwards. Xbox One discs can be played on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 discs (being the older console) can be played on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, Xbox discs (being the oldest console) can be
    played on all three consoles. The Xbox One is currently the newest console that is out, and therefore, its games only works on its system.

    Past that, you'll have to get the right disc to play on the Xbox 360... it should say Xbox 360 on the case and the disc for the game.

    Hi,

    Do other BC Xbox 360 game discs work on your Xbox One? For the Xbox One to recognise the game and download it from Live it must:

    • Be able to read the disc. Check if the disc is dirty or damaged
    • Have a working Optical drive capable of reading Xbox 360 discs. Try other BC discs or test a DVD movie.

    The Xbox One has two diodes for reading discs in the optical Blu-ray Drive. A red laser is used to read Xbox 360 and DVD movies and a blue laser to read Xbox One games and Blu-ray movies. If the diode for reading DVD's is faulty, BC Xbox 360 discs won't
    work.

    Sorry about your problem there.

    When you try other discs that work, are these 360 discs or Xbox One game discs?

    Do you own any other 360 disc games and they work?

    I ask this because 360 discs are DVD discs and Xbox games are on Blu-ray. There is a separate laser for reading DVD discs in the console.

    Only Xbox 360 games and regular DVDs, BluRay disc and Xbox One discs work perfectly!
