360 Freezing on Xbox Original Game (that has played well for years!)

I still have my original xbox, but it's kind of troublesome to pull it out every time I want to play an old game, especially since the 360's backwards compatibility mode has worked for me thus far. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic isn't just a favorite
of mine, it's hugely popular and played among many. For years (since 2009 for me) I've played that and many of my original xbox games without any problems! The game froze after 11 hours of play and reloading to various save points doesn't fix or circumvent
the issue. I cleared the cloud cach, which usually fixes any original xbox issues, but this time it did nothing. My disc is old so I purchased another, the issue is still happening. All of my other games, be it 360or original xbox work fine, it's just this
one! But if I have a new disc that should have resolved the situation right? I also have the latest updates from Microsoft, but I only updated after the problem started, so it isn't a downloading or file update problem.

Can anyone tell me what to do? My console checks out and my external hard-drive checks out. What could be the problem?

Is there a way to backup or transfer the original xbox DLC?

Will a falcon model of xbox 360 last 100 years provided that I use it 2 hours a day? I know that it would definitely last 100 years if I don't turn the thing on, ever, which would defeat the purpose of owning a 360.

Has anyone gotten any piece of DLC from original xbox games inside a hard drive of a slim xbox 360? If they did, then it would be a miracle, or magic, or something like that.

Also, I own the original xbox and the xbox 360, and I have Return to Castle Wolfenstein Tides of War, and used it on both systems. When comparing the brightness of that game on both systems, on the original xbox, the brightness is super dark, much so that
I couldn't see anything, and I don't remember it being that dark the first time I played it. On the 360, the brightness is much better, as it was when I first played it on the original xbox. So is my original xbox "decaying"?

 

Fable freezing

I'm guessing that you mean you purchased the original Fable off of the XBOX LIVE Marketplace. The freezing is most likely a result of the emulation software the XBOX 360 uses to run the original XBOX games. Not every game works perfectly on this software
(for example, you may notice various audio problems, and in your case, freezing).

Fable apparently has quite a few performance issues when running on an XBOX 360, so sadly there is nothing you can do on your part to fix this.

 

You can't really do much. 360 backwards compatibility is broken at best, and emulation is very, very unstable. Aging hardware can impact how the 360 emulates older software. The one big things is your video output. VGA/Composite and HDMI, as well as which
resolution your console is outputting at (480i vs 720p for example) can also impact how your emulation is conducted. Some save files for example, stop working after the game access it a certain amount of times.

tl;dr, change your video settings, see if that works. If not, then it could be your console, your game, or a combination of the two.
