360 Flickering, artifacts, GPU issue?? 4 weeks old.

hey everyone. I purchases a brand new xbox 360 E 250GB just 4 weeks ago. Iv had no issues what so ever until about 10 minutes ago. I had it running on a pc monitor through HDMI on 1080p. Then i decided to switch to a HDTV, which had previously
been used. But my display wasnt showing anything. So i went through the reset method via the 10 second power button reset. I dont think i held it quite long enough. Anyway, i then tried the Y button and trigger method to reset my display. But still nothing.
Then i put it back on the pc monitor, turned down the resolution then put it back on the TV. Now its working. So i launched GTA V online, and started playing, then i noticed my screen went black for about a second or two, still had sound. Then it came back
on. But with funny purple green horizontal lines going across the tv. Flickering. And the xbox was running slow. I then left the game and went to the dashboard thinking this was a game issue. But no, it was still doing it. The xbox button menu on tge controller
was laggy, slow, flickering screen, artifacts ect... So i turned off the xbox. Left it for a minute or so then turned it back on. I had no issues this time but for the safe side i changed the resolution and went from auto to RGB color settings. I havent noticed
it yet this time. But what im worried about is, is it my xbox? Or could it have been because i turned it on and off so many times trying to reset the *** display? I think i turned it on and off about 5-7 times trying the methods recommended to reset display.
Could this cause some kind of issue with the GPU? Im quite a techy guy so as far as i know, this resembles a GPU error, too hot or dying out... But the xbox was only just on for 10 minutes before this occured so heat is out of the pictue. And i have recently
read that microsoft will not replace my xbox as this isnt a RROD issue, which really sucks *** if thats true and my xbox is brokem considering its only 4 weeks old. Bought brand spankin new. I know GTA V is a 720p game but iv had no issues before hand running
at 1080p? Please microsoft if this is a GPU issue, im pretty sure i should be intitled to a replacement????? And if its not a GPU problem, what the hell is it lol. Please anyone?? Thanks

    :)

  2. How does the "grapics card" get affected damage?

Problems with the GPU usually shows up in the form of graphical "artifacts" on screen, like weird random colors, spots, flickering, and other garbled nonsense happening. Worst case scenario, the Xbox won't display anything on the screen at all.

Either way, a defective graphics processor will require the console to be serviced or replaced.

If the xbox is only 4 weeks old...it's still under warranty. ALL Xbox consoles come with a one year standard warranty, and some stores even have beyond a 30 day DOA replacement period so you may even be able to take it back to the store depending. The RROD
does not effect the Slim S or Slim E models which is why they are not eligible for the THREE year RROD extended warranty but all Xbox consoles still have a standard one year warranty from date of purchase.

P.S try not using such insanely small font it makes your posts difficult to read...i have 20/20 vision and i had to squint i can only imagine for those with vision impairments.

Artifacts like that are likely a GPU overheatint issue and means the console should be returned

    XBOX 360 Hardware issues?

Sounds like a hardware issue if it's "breaking up" and "pixellating" as you say, as games put more strain on the hardware than movies. Possibly the graphics chip is becoming defective if what you're seeing is

    GPU artifacting
. In this case, the only course of action is to have the Xbox 360
repaired by Microsoft (if it's still under warranty), or replaced entirely.
