360 E console/controller connectivity problems

I have a brand new, out-of-box 3 hours ago, 360 E 4GB console. The controller appears to be working just fine, and will sync as it should, but I am experiencing VERY limited, random functionality. Immediately after syncing, the console's power light goes
off and on frequently, but randomly. That is, it does not flash in a steady pattern, but erratically. Every time the console's light goes off, all 4 lights around the controller's guide button flash together. When console light comes back on, (I assume) the
controller attempts to reconnect. There is no error message or "please reconnect your controller" message. The controller will sync and I get a few seconds of proper function before connection is lost again. There is no interruption in audio or video. Batteries
in controller are brand new. I have tried powering console and controller off/on, disconnecting/reconnecting all cables, turning off and removing possible interference such as laptop, phones, TV, and wireless router, and repositioning console. What is going
on and how can I fix this? Or does it sound like a defective console?

Controller

I have just got a new Xbox 360 E Console, I also got 2 brand new controllers. I have problems with both controllers 1st Controller I put it down on a soft surface lighty and It turns off. 2nd Controller turns off randomly.

Can anybody help me!

Xbox 360 WIRED controller not working (but can turn on Xbox

Hey guys, I'm doing a project which includes editing videos for NCAA 14. Which means, i had to purchase a 360 and NCAA 14.

The problem is, Im plugging in the Xbox 360 WIRED controller in the following ports listed below and NOTHING is working.

Player 1, Player 2, 2 inputs in the back of the Xbox 360 E.

But strangely, when i plug in the Xbox 360 WIRED controller into any of those inputs, i can turn the Xbox 360 E console ON. But that's all it does.

Btw, the Xbox 360 WIRED controller works with my PC just fine. I just bought the controller today and works fine with the PC and can power the Xbox 360 Console E on.

It is possible that the console could be defective. These things have happened. However, it could also be a simple power issue. If your console is plugged into a power bar try plugging it directly to a wall socket and see if you still experience the same
issues.

Hi there.

Please try the following:

Power Xbox 360 off, when fully powered down then disconnect the console from power.

Wait at least 2 minutes, then reconnect the console and power it on again and try synching the controllers again.

If you have a Play & Charge cable available also try connecting the controller to it and and console to see if that helps anything.

While I'm not an Xbox Support employee, to my knowledge, the cable from the Play&Charge kit for the Xbox 360 does not carry controller commands. So if you connect a Xbox 360 controller with a Play & Charge kit, the battery will charge, but unless the controller
is "bound" to the console, will not work.

In order to bind a new controller to the console you need to press the Bind buttons on the controller and console.

On the Xbox 360 console, there is a small button next to the Memory Unit slots on the older (rounder) models, or next to the USB front flap on newer (Slim and E model) consoles.

Press the Bind button on the console, and the Ring of Light on the console should rotate. Now press the small bind button on the front of the controller (between the LB RB buttons, right next to the connector there is a button with a "o)))" symbol). The
controller's "Ring of Light" should also rotate shortly, and eventually connect. If the controller connected properly, it will have the appropriate segment lit up.

As for the update: Even if you don't connect to others, each Xbox console that connects to Xbox Live (e.g. for game downloads, cloud based savegames to transfer to Xbox One later, media streaming), each Xbox 360 console HAS TO be on the latest system software
to be able to connect to Xbox Live.

I hope this instruction helped you to get the new controller working with your console.

Okay I will try the USB thing. Seems weird that it would not work when my other Xbox is fine.
