360 controllers (wired and wireless) lose sync at random intervals

    I have a 360 S 250gb. It worked fine before a move, so I'm sure it's probably related.

The controllers will lose sync at random times. The controller will stay lit like it's connected. The controller indicator on the console will go out. The machine isn't frozen, as the game or movie will go on. The game will display a message about reconnecting
    the controller.

There's no source of interference in the area. The nearest microwave is on the opposite side of the house. I've disconnected power to my cable boxes and wifi router.

This week I finally bought a wired controller. It *mostly* stays connected. I would say it is about 80%. Even the wired controller doesn't work quite right. It acts like a controller with dead batteries. When playing MWII, it will stray right for about 1/2
second and then go back to normal. If I let the controller alone for a few minutes, wired or wireless, it will undoubtedly not respond.

With a wireless controller, I can *sometimes* get it to sync back up after leaving the power and hdmi disconnected for several seconds. With the wired, a reboot will clear it up.

This all happens with hdmi or RCA.

    Anyone seen anything like this?

    :)

  3. Console won't search for potential wireless controllers

I have 2 wired controllers that work great, but I don't have any wireless controllers that are already synced, and no new ones will sync. Otherwise, no the console is perfect.

Have you tried clearing out the system cache of your Xbox by hovering over your hard drive and pressing Y? If not, do that 3 times and then power down your console. Once the console is off go ahead and unplug the power brick from the wall until the light
shuts off on the brick. My phat 360 used to do this and that cleared it right up. Haven't had a problem since.

I cleared the cache through the console menu, but not through the method you outlined. I will try that tonight for sure. Thank you for the info.

Can't Get my Wired Wireless X-Box 360 Controller To Work

    Hi,

Unlike the Xbox One controllers the wireless 360 controllers are always wireless. The play and charge doesn't send control data, therefore you can't make your wireless controller wired.

It will show in device manager when plugged in, but this is for automatic sync purposes with an Xbox 360 Gaming Receiver for Windows. If you want use this controller you'll need the receiver.

    Hope this helps.
