360 can connect to network but not Internet

I've been having the most frustrating issues with my 360 for the last few days. I just hooked it up this week end for the first time since moving to my new apartment and getting a new ISP/modem. Now, I haven't had a single issue with any of my other devices
(PS3, WiiU, 3DS, 2 cell phones, 2 computers) so I was really surprised when the 360 simply refused to connect to the internet - both when connecting it with a cable and when using WiFi. When I start it up now I get a prompt to install a new update which results
in a 3F4B error and when I try to connect it to the internet the connection test fails at the internet part. I think I've tried all the steps in the guides here and am starting to lose hope.

xbox wont connect to internet

my xbox 360 wont conect to the internet, it can connect to the network but not the internet, it has before but not recently.

please help

Hi, It usually would do the trick maybe if you bring the network adaptor back to factory settings.

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings. Select Network Settings. Wireless, Wireless name, Select the Additional Settings tab. Select Restore to Factory defaults.

Then, to have a good connection with an 'HUAWEI Home Gateway' using DMZ would do.

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

Select Network Settings. Wireless, Wireless name, stay on the Basic Settings tab and write down that first IP address.

Now on the computer go with a browser to
http://192.168.1.1 log is usually not necessary to HUAWEI so go to Advanced, and click on NAT. The page you are getting has two tabs. Go to DMZ. Directly you'll see the first line in blue diabled and a input to fill in a IP adrees. You just write that down,
now it is the time to use it and enable DMZ for that rule and push on Submit.

Restarting the router is not necessarily required but for the Xbox it is.

Unfortunately I performed what you described (even setting up a static DHCP routing for my xbox) and I still get the same thing.

Any further ideas would be appreciated.

 

Is WPS enabled or disabled if you go to Basic/Wlan table "Wireless Settings"?

Can you make sure your console's hard drive is attached properly.
Safely remove the hard drive and add it back.

Delete a portion of the current system update installed on your console and try update the system. Before you remove the update, restore your console's network settings to factory defaults (to issue new IP configuration from the DHCP server) and remove any
entries you've applied in Port Forwarding/VIrtual Server, or in the DMZ of you router.

Make sure UPnP is ticked "Enable".

Turn off your console. Press and hold the sync button (the small one you use to connect your wireless controllers). While holding press the power button to turn your console on. Continue to hold the sync button until the console is completely booted up.

Go to System Settings and Select Storage.

On your controller, press the following button sequence:

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

Turn off your console and try use a wired soluation.

Turn on your console and apply system update.

Let us know how that goes.

To clear all the settings I'd changed I went ahead and did a full on factory reset of my modem to make sure I hadn't done anything wrong. Now (after searching for 15 minutes for my stupid PIN-code, lol) I've done what you suggested and I'm still left with
the same problem.

When I try to install the update (and the console has always been able to tell there's an update to install for some reason) I get an update error 3F4B-0000-0080-0300-8007-2751.

Should I just throw this thing out the window or something?

If it's possible, can you
download the update and copy to a USB flash drive (configure for use with the Xbox 360) or CD/DVD and manually update your console.

Post back and let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.

Ok, so downloading the update on PC and installing it worked, even if it didn't solve my problem. I still can't connect to the Internet. I did get an error 8015190E at just when I'd installed the update but I suppose that's just a generic "Unable to log
in"-type of thing?

Please run a traceroute from your console and let us know where you see the broken or the slow link in the chain. Each hop represent a link in the chain.

Go to Xbox Network settings. Select your connection type and press the following combo on your controller:

Well I'm certainly finding out new functions on my Xbox through this.

Did steps 2-4 but when I try the tracert I just get a DNS Request Timed Out message.

Edit: So trying tracert.xboxlive.com instead (the suggestion in the tracert function) I get 12 hops and then the 13th times out, at which point I'm up to 58 ms. The Host name ends with ntwk.msn.net.

I've been having this exact same problem for the past like 2 days, and this sh*t isn't @$%#ing working. But this morning I connected to live, the marketplace in it's entirety wasn't accessible but I could see the online status of my friends so I knew I was
online, but as soon as I launched GTA V before it even loaded I was disconnected and now I'm back to square one. It picks up my wifi AND ethernet when plugged in but no internet connection, yet my laptop connects just fine. Microsoft knows something is ***
up and giving up these bull$&#@ troubleshooting steps wont work and they know it.
