343 won't confirm Halo 5 for 2014 despite surprise video mention

1, 2 & 3 are all understood (i.e. taken for granted). Don't tell me what to do.

You probably think 343i ruined Halo 4 because you haven't read the books or taken in the other related media... That's not a jab at you, just a fact that they mentioned when promoting the game that if you did have that knowledge H4 would mean more to you.

I think they did an amazing job... Imho.

 

I have other friends that like Stoneware didn't like what 343 did with Halo 4. Not saying it's the case for everyone but I think a few just couldn't get use to this game not being developed by Bungie.

I personally think like others here they did a brilliant job and really can't wait to see where they take the story in future, I have high hopes.

 

They did a fair job with halo 4, but multi-player in Halo 4 was not good, and I feel the on line numbers proved that, 410,000 a day down to under 40,000 in five months speaks volumes, they don't even get 20,000 now, I hope they turn it around for the next
game, Halo is what prompted me to get an Xbox.

 

I hope they release it for the fans of Halo, but I personally can't stand it. I liked the first 3 games, but they have gotten worse with each game. Reach was boring and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. When I was playing H4 I finished a few levels and
an overwhelming feeling of boredom took over me like I've been there done that.

It doesn't matter who makes the game....it's just boring in my opinion. It's like any other IP that has been done to death. It's been crammed down our throats to where a lot of people resent it.

I believe Halo 2 remastered will be the Halo announcement. Halo 5, or whatever they wanna call it, would/should be in 2015. Hopefully E3 will shed more light on this.

Halo 4 (aside the original) is my fave so far. I love the new evil and I hope they stick to that from here on out. I played that campaign a lot faster then the others.

I'm a bit on the opposite side of that fence. Not that I'm against the idea of 'the new evil' at all. It's nice to have new enemies and challenges, but the Prometheans just didn't
impress me at all. Sure, they're 'tougher' opponents in some aspects, but IMO fighting them just became a lather/rinse/repeat process that got old quickly. Facing them became a chore after awhile and that's something I've never experienced in any other Halo
game.

Admittedly, the introduction of the Brutes in Halo 2 came close to giving that feeling as they were little more than large, hairy bullet sponges. But at least the story incorporated
them enough to give them some context. To me, the Brutes felt like new opponents that fit in because they belonged. Whereas the Promethean Knights just felt like new opponents that were thrown in just to change things up.

If 343 can 'evolve' the Prometheans in Halo 5, the way Bungie did with the Brutes in Halo 3... well then that will make me look forward to it with more excitement. I'm still looking
forward to it, though.

 

when i first saw halo 4 i fort WOW when i first got to play it first thing i noticed was the sound you made when u walked fort WOW again also loved the intro video with chief taking on that brute

 

I thought 343 did an excellent job of the campaign in H4, but I just couldn't get into the multiplayer. There was nothing that made me want to come back and I also think I might just be sick of versus MP in general anyway.

I think 2014 is a little soon for H5 and if they were releasing around the same time of year they usually would, I'm almost 100% sure we'd know an official release window by now. I'll be happy with H2 anniversary this year, that will get me heaps keen for
the newest instalment.

Digital, I didn't play much MP either. I always end up losing most the time, and that pretty much goes for any Halo game. So on that score, I don't usually play for long online in Halo games but for 4, I played the least of all too.

Blue, I know exactly what you are saying there mate. Though I overlooked that simply just because I loved how they died and their combat skills were pretty good. Weird to say I know, but I am pretty easy to please and that pleased me to no end. I hope the
new evil in H5 pulls off a lot of variations and strengths. That would be pretty good to see, a vast army of different enemies.
