33% Discount on 12 month Live membership

I was offered a 33% discount for renewing my XBox Live membership early. When I followed the links through the app on my XBox account it charged me the full price of $59.99. I have spoken with a customer service rep and have a service request number and
was referred here for resolution.

Gold Family Pack discounts and membership extensions

If you currently have an Xbox LIVE Gold Membership, you will get a discount on your Gold Family Pack membership based on how many months remain on your existing Gold Membership.

The discount varies by region, and is calculated by first taking the price of an Xbox LIVE Gold 12-month membership divided by 12 months (Gold monthly rate). The Gold Family Pack discount that you receive is the Gold monthly rate, multiplied by the number of
months left on your existing Gold membership (rounded up to the next full month), then subtracted from your purchase price.



Note Your Gold Family Pack membership starts on date of your purchase. Your credit card is charged immediately, after any discounts are applied.

Never heard of either of these places... always a little sketch to do it.

We don't have the ability to refund or offer promotions here on the forums, only the chat/phone teams have the ability to adjust any sort of billing issue like this. Do you have a screenshot or something to show the offer of 33% off? Generally these are
on the dashboard of the console and are limited time offers. If you don't take the offer through the console dashboard advertisement then the promotion won't go into effect.

That's kind of what my report is. I took the offer through the console dashboard advertisement and still did not receive the discount. I contacted the support through chat yesterday and they asked the same thing about the screenshots.
As of Sunday night, the offer was still showing on my dashboard. By the time I got home from work last night, however, the offer was no longer showing there. I am assuming this is because the payment had processed for my membership. At that point, I spoke
with a phone agent named Mike and he directed me here.

I understand that you need to see something on your end, but if you follow this logically, there would be no reason for me to renew my membership early unless I was offered a deal, when I can go onto Amazon and purchase a prepaid card for a 12-month membership
for $49.99.

At this point, I am not concerned about the $20 extra that I was charged, but more that this amounts to false advertising and deceptive practices. I find it hard to believe that everyone I have spoken with acts like I was the only person to be given this
offer and no one else has had a problem with it.

I believe I have handled this as professionally as I can, but I am getting a bit PO'ed at the runaround.

Try reading the Voorwaarden, maybe there's something in there which makes you go "fishing behind the net" or "Making you happy with a dead sparrow"

 

Tried reading the 'voorwaarden' but that only gave me a headache. But I think it got fixed now. I can now continue without getting fully priced . W00T W00T
