30 vs. 60 FPS: Can Your Eyes Tell The Difference In Gameplay?

Multiplayer games should have a standard of 60 fps. Yet it seems that even in this gen it's not possible with games like infinity running at 30 fps. Developers are choosing higher resolutions over higher FPS due to hardware limitations.

Any thoughts? Is this important to anyone else?

Bad news about Watch Dogs...

Motion blur on 30 fps does not have the same effect as 60 fps. I was playing CS: Source yesterday when I read the rubbish in this thread. I have 60 Hz monitor and tested 30 fps vs 60 fps on CS: Source. 60 fps is much smoother, 30 fps has notable stuttering.
Just stop lying, please.

Yes FPS is important. Resolution isnt. Destiny at 30FPS is so clunky and slow.

 

i believe as a whole, that FPS is more important, but personally it doesn't seem to make that much of a different, maybe i just need to upgrade my TV.

 

Well we know why Developers started to focus on higher Res.

 

First you need to know how many frames the human eye can see. Is why lights flicker and you only see some of the rotations of a propeller for example.

Read this first and you will understand fps does not mean better, but the way it is being displayed, details and resolution.

I honestly can't tell a difference. I tried switching between 30 and 60 FPS games ad i wouldn't know the wiser

True but I don't think its the frames. something just feels "off" with destinys gun play. I mean halo 4 was 30FPS and silky smooth. even smoother then BF4 and CoD and just as smooth as titanfall.

 

@Upinya I didnt have an issue with Destiny's gunplay. My issue was it felt like I was moving through quick sand. I have BF, COD and TF and I dont feel like that when playing those games.

 

TBH i have never played a game and thought there was an issue, I can't tell if its 10 or 100,and I don't care, fun is fun, and worrying about something I can tell, and is the same for everyone isn't worth worrying about IMO. either way isn't worth worrying
about.

after playing titanfall, every game feels like quicksand to me lol.

 

^^We've played TF a few times together, and I rarely play now, but BF and COD are just so hard to play after playing TF. Maybe movement in TF is more fluid but something is just off with the run of the mill shooters, I am used to playing.

you should play more, we'll have to get some games in again! also i was wrong about peggle. been playing a little here and there. its fun. got it in EA access also picked up PvZ if you have it. also did you change your GT?
