30 F****king days!

I am currently abroad, and decided to purchase a new Xbox one X, so i could continue with my FIFA 18 fut team. Get home unbox it and set up, only to be prompted by a message saying that i need to enter a code, for a phone number I no longer even have! I
went to Microsoft online, changed my number, and tried to sign again only to be prompted by the same message with the same old number, then I find out it takes 30 days to change my security info! So not only can I not sign into my account, but I also have
to wait 30 f*****g days, are you serious?

so I spoke to three agents, however none of them could help me, I ended up calling in, and spoke to some lady who said she was putting me through to the xbox department or whatever, waited nearly 40 minutes only for her to answer me and say "tech support
how can I help?", so that ended in zero help. Got no where with customer support.

Now I'm stuck with a £500 paper weight, because I am unable to sign in to my account. Microsoft are an absolute joke, and I don't want to hear any crap about this is for my own safety. I have my password, my credit card details, my damn XBOX ID from my one
x back home and the answer to my security questions, so I don't understand why I only have this option? Worst is no one is even willing to help find a work around, It's so ridiculous and so infuriating at the same time.

I've bought every Xbox since the 360, including every iteration the slim, the One, the Elite, the One S, and recently 2 one x's, but after my experience with Microsoft and the **** run around they've given me this will be the last one.

This is why people buy PS4s, yeah the online experience may be lacking, but so is all this extra ****, they don't force you into some crappy eco system with outdated and archaic "security" measures, and it doesn't 30 days to change your info before you can
log in again. F**** you Microsoft!

Why was I billed for the first month when it was suppose to be a 30 day free trial?

The 30 day waiting period is so that only the owner can cancel it, normally you would only not be able to access the account at all, but I have seen it to where it wont let you sign in to account.live.com only and it will let you sign in to you xbox, just
keep in mind that if on your xbox it asks you to verify your security info you will not be able to, the way around this is to turn the xbox off and try again and again and again until it goes in, but there is the chance that you will be unable to access your
account at all for 30 days.

 

Remind me again,how many times has PSN been hacked & peoples information stolen in the past few years due to lack of security?

Two or three I believe.

How many times has xbox live been hacked since it began 15 years ago? None.

It can take up to 30 days for a reason.Swearing isn't going to make that time go any faster.

 

Why not 48 hours or even a week? why 30 days surely 48 hours is sufficient enough time for someone to realise their account has been hacked. Also, PSN got hacked once, when it was a free service (which is still one to many) but xbox live accounts get hacked
as well, so thats not really saying much. This 30 day waiting period is ridiculous, and the fact that not even the microsoft teams can help even though you have all the relevant information is even more ridiculous! Being told to wait 30 days after you forked
out £500 for a console is a joke, and you know it is.

 

PSN got hacked again this year as well as in the past.

Xbox accounts vary rarely get hacked & when they do it's because the user hasn't set up the proper security.The majority of the time the person has been phished.

Xbox live itself has never been hacked.

It can take up to 30 days.

How is proper security a joke?

Would you rather wait up to 30 days for proper security or have someone else get hold of all your details?

Why not just set up a temporary account while you wait for your other account to be available if you are that desperate to play?

There's nothing stopping you from using your console now.

 

Unfortunately there is no work around for this 30 day hold once its started the only way to cancel it is to have access to the old security proof because when you tell it to cancel it will prompt for a code to be sent to the old security proof.
