30 Day Xbox Live Gold trial offer not working

I signed up for the 1 month of Xbox Live Gold trial offer on 9/24. It let me redeem two of the free GoG games on my Xbox One but not the Xbox 360 version of Mirror's Edge. The Xbox One keeps asking for a payment option when I try to redeem Mirror's Edge
and I have added two different credit cards. It also will not let me play any multi-player games online.

On my account page on Xbox.com, it says I have Gold. When I click on "try Gold for one month" on the Xbox One dashboard, it states "PUR-XboxSubscriptionsMaxOwnershipExceeded".

I have tried holding the power button for 10 seconds. I also tried deleting and restoring my profile to no avail.

What you are experiencing is an issue with overdue payment. To sort out payment issues it would be better if you contact xbox chat support billing section:

I don't think that is an overdue payment issue. First off, your account is currently showing only as Silver, not Gold and that is why you are unable to play online.

As for the payment issue, try adding the game from xbox.com and then go to My Games & Apps>Ready to Install on your Xbox One to download it

 

The OP has clearly stated the error code "PUR-Xbox Subscriptions Max Ownership Exceeded".

 

which could suggest he has 36 months of gold stacked up

 

What you are describing is the Error 8016A0FA and the OP hasn't reported that error code.

Yet I hope between us he/sh got the info required to solve the issue by now!

 

Thanks for the replies! Sadly, the issues have not been fixed yet. It looks like I will have to call support.

I'm getting an error when trying to use Live saying that "payment is overdue" but I have never attempted to purchase anything using my Xbox account. My Xbox account is only a few weeks old.

When I log into my Xbox account it says

"Subscription

Xbox Live Gold

Expires on

10/24/2016"

but I still can't play games online or redeem Mirror's Edge.

 

I have this exact same issue with my Xbox One, unable to play games online getting the same error as OP.

I am experiencing the same Issue. Xbox live support is of little help and have not been able to resolve this issue. I entered my debit card for the free month trial and it shows my debit card on file yet I dont have access to xbox live gold even though my
account says so

 

jfkdownt, my issue is exactly the same as yours, my card is on file too and I have no outstanding balance to pay etc.

I was asked if I want to try 1 month free of Xbox live gold. I gave all the details needed but now i can't use it. When I 'm going to subscriptions in settings I can really only for the paid Xbox live gold. I would really like to try the free trial first.
