  1. 3 Xboxes in 1 house. How to set up Xbox Family to only pay for 1 gold membership

I have my Xbox One X set as the home Xbox. My oldest son has a Xbox One S and has always been in my Live Family. When I got the X, I gave my youngest son my Xbox One Halo 5 Edition. He has a gamertag but it wants me to pay
for his Gold seperately. Can I add a 3rd gamertag to my Family account or do I have to pay for his Gold subscription? Right now, I do not have to pay for my oldest subscription due to being on my family.

    :)

Purchasing An Xbox Live Gold Membership

Have you purchased an Xbox Live Gold membership? If so, how much time did you pay for - a month, 3 months, or a year? Did you buy a family membership? I wish we would bought the family membership now, since we have 3 people who all want separate gold accounts and only 1 of them currently has one. It would have been so much cheaper than buying 3 separate accounts!!

Question about Xbox Live Gold Family Pack converting on the 27th

My Gold Family membership was set to renew on 3/5/2014. What will happen to the remaining time that I paid for? Also will I be able to sign up for home gold without xbox 1? I do plan on eventually buying the xbox 1 but It will probaly be a few to several
    months after its release.

3 Xboxes in 1 house. How to set up Xbox Family to only pay for 1 gold membership

This is a nightmare in my opinion I have 2 consoles. I have just one gold membership. I set one console to be my home console, and my sons can use that one. For my second console, they can log on and use it, but have zero gold/online features. If I am also
logged on, they are able to access my Gold games, but still no online features. If they want to play together (the reason I bought 2 consoles) the one the second console (not set to my home console) has to use my parent account to have the gold features. In
other words, one kid uses his account the other one has to use mine. Awful. Microsoft should really support multiple home consoles. I would pay a monthly fee to establish a second home console so my gold benefits could truly be shared to both my sons.

  5. As long as your account is signed in at the same time on the console that is not set as your home console then any profile using that xbox should be able to play your digital games and use your gold.

  6. Its not a matter of him being in your family it is a matter that you have your oldest sons xbox console set as your home console.

No matter what console you are signed into you will be able to play your digitally bought games and use your gold.

You can set ONE console as your home console and any other profile on that console can then use your gold and play your digitally owned games without your profile being signed in at the same time.

Keep in mind you can only switch which console you have set as your home console FIVE times in a year.

So the only way for your youngest son is going to be able to use your digital games and gold if his console is not set as your home console your profile would have to be signed in at the same time that he is on his console. In this case you would not be
able to be signed in on any other xbox one console if he's signed in on his console at the same time if you do it will sign your profile out of his console and kick him offline and out of your digital game.

This would be the only way for this to work in your situation without buying him his own gold subscription.

How will Live Home Gold work for multiple family members?

    Hi,

I'll be happy to explain how it works. You're definitely on the right track here.

As long as you have 1 gamertag on the Xbox One console that has a gold membership, all profiles that sign into that Xbox One console will have a gold membership as well.

You are correct in that you can only have 1 gamertag per Microsoft Account (e-mail). If you wish for others to have a gamertag, you will need to make them their own e-mail address and then their own Xbox LIVE gamertag. As long as the account being created is
under the age of 18, you will be asked to enter in a parental e-mail. This will allow you to control certain features of your child's account as well as access to the things they can and can't do on Xbox LIVE.

There's no need to sign up for another gold subscription. As long as at least 1 account on the console has a gold membership, that membership is shared with everyone on that console. This would mean that if your son goes to a friends house, he can also share
his friends gold membership for the time that he is at his house.

The only issue with this is that your son would not be able to game on the Xbox 360 without a gold membership as this Xbox One Home Gold is not backwards compatible. Your son will also not be able to game online if he goes to a friends house and his friend
does not have a gold subscription. This is meant for families that want their accounts separate but also don't wish to pay $60 for each family member to play online.

Hope that explains it a bit better.
