3 Updates in 1 Week

i have gotten 3 updates in one week why on earth are there so many updates its starting to be a very big inconvenience

my xbox wont let me do the update it get 3/4 of the way then says error. apparantly the update is not out for another 2 weeks !!!!!1

My console updates while the console is off.

No inconvenience for me.

 

Change your settings to "Update at a certain time"- ie when you are in bed. Only once have I ever had to update on the fly, and it was the big one about 6 months ago. Apart from that, never.

 

I've had an update every damn day! I'm getting pissed, it's always as I'm watching netflix. **** this ****, this is getting dumb!

 

Then set your console to download updates when it's off.

From what you are describing it sounds like your console is receiving Insider updates as it is quite normal for console in the Insider program to receive multiple updates a week. If you would like to receive less updates you may want to consider moving the
console to a different update ring or removing it from the program all together.

 

Moving to a different ring wont make a difference.You'll still get the same amount of updates,just at a different time.

Don't even think you can change what ring you are in other than moving to a higher ring

 

Updates are far too frequent. I seldom get a chance to play my Xbox since I had my first child. Totally, my priorities are with my daughter. But... everyone deserves some down time. I even plan ahead turn on the console a day or two before I think I might
get a chance to play, and update. Then off to bed I go.... day or two later turn it back on... more updates?? This really is ridiculous.. always on function? What's that about? Yeah wait, let me delve deep into my bottomless money sack and top up that lekky
meter to power all the gadgets I have running whilst not using them??????? No chance, what about your green credentials Bill? Your beloved company encourages "always on" kit in a world running short of power everyday???? It's too much Microsoft. Get it sorted

Sony looking very attractive by not FORCING these stupid updates TWICE in a damn week. If I had constant internet I would NOT be here barking about it. Once again the ELITISTS at online only game console MSFT are pooping on poor people who have very limited
data, yet I spend good cash on their digital store, just choose to mostly play offline w no achievements. Ridiculous getting two in one week while the latest, at 390mb has to be done or I can't play online! Shame on you xbox

 

So it's Microsofts fault you have crap broadband?

Yet you can download digital games ok which can be up to 50 gb but not a couple of 350mb updates?

You can afford the prices of digital games etc. but can't afford to pay for better broadband?

 

Only consoles running in the preview program will normally receive multiple console updates a week and if you are on a limited data connection it is probably best to not be in the insider program. As you can see from this link since may there has only been
four software
updates since May for consoles that are not in the insider program.

If you purchased the console used then you may wish to get it unenrolled from the Insider Program (But this will probably require a download in excess of 3GB) and rolled back to the last general release by posing in the

Insider forums to request your console be removed from the program.

 

you are probably in the Insider program. That means you get the newest features and updates as one of the first. You can opt out of this programs. This will involve resetting the Xbox to default. Than you only will receive the normal updates.
