    3.5mm port on controller

Hi, I have an issue with the headset connection on the 3.5mm headset port on the XBOX controller handset. I have two controllers and both have gone the same way. From doing some research it looks like the controllers have a really poor quality 3.5mm port
that breaks easily and the fix for this is to connect via the headset adapter. Does anyone know how I contact support to ask them to replace the controllers? They were only bought in November so should still be under warranty.

    :)

If your Xbox Wireless Controller comes with a 3.5mm port, you can connect a headset with a standard 3.5mm jack directly to the controller. The 3.5mm port is a small circular port at the bottom of the controller.

Yes myself and my partner have had issues too. As previously said they are covered for a 90 day period. I use the chat pad and to be honest, it gives much better quality audio anyway. We have also replaced the ports on controllers not covered but thus
    requires opening them up

You can set up the replacement service for your controllers at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices

You need to go through a registered console and select accessories and controller in the drop down boxes it will then ask for the controller PID number this can be found on the sticker in the battery compartment of your controller

Any of them that are not in warranty can be replaced pretty easily and the ports can be had for cheap.

    3.5mm port on controller

    Hello Frod,

Sorry for the issue with your controller 3.5mm jack. They have a 90 day warranty on any accessory. Have you tried a headset adapter or chat pad? These two seem to work as the headset plugs into them and the chat pad or adapter plugs into the main plug in
on the controller. You can get with support to see if the controllers are in warranty.

When you go to Contact Us to get it to request a chat follow these steps:

    • Step 1 ----select Xbox One
    • Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
    • Step 3-----select show contact options

Step 4 ----select request call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Brad
