2TB Seagate External Hard Drive Will Not Download Certain Games

I've been having the same issue since I got my external hard drive, almost two weeks ago. It specifically does not download / move / copy Forza games to the external hard drive. I own Forza Horizon 2 & 3, and Forza Motorsport 5 & 6.

It seems to download the DLC just fine, but when it comes to the base game, installation stops early.

I have tried downloading directly to the external hard drive. I also tried moving and copying to the external drive after downloading it to the internal storage. The games run perfectly fine when run on the internal storage.

I tried uninstalling and re-downloading the specified games with different methods. The result is the same.

Other games that I have, like Burnout Paradise, Crossout, and For Honor have downloaded onto the external storage with no issues, and are completely functional. It used to think that the game size is to large to handle, but it wouldn't make sense since For
Honor is 56 GB, when a typical Forza game is around 40 - 50 GB.

I used SeaTools on Windows to diagnose the drive. So far, the app deems the drive healthy.

I checked online, but most topics pertain to hard drive recognition for the Xbox. Any website that give any information about this issue has not fixed this issue.

4tb Seagate external hard drive

I bought a 2tb external hard drive last year and have had no problems but recently purchased a 4tb Seagate external hard drive due to insufficient storage for my games but the 4tb Seagate external hard drive is listed as media storage ie photos video's and
documents I tried to format and rename it but can't get that option as I can with the 2tb external hard drive please let me know what I can do about this.

iv just brought a seagate portable 2TB external hard drive for £59 from Amazon

 

EDIT:

- Tried reformatting drive after failed download.

- Tried changing attached external hard drive to different USB ports that can be installed on Xbox.

When moving or copying the base game to external hard drive, download usually stops around 0.7% to 0.9%

 

EDIT:

Selected 'Manage Game and Add-ons.' I tried moving and copying to the external drive from there.

All the Forza games show the DLC in queue, but the base game is never shown in the queue.

Like I said in the previous post, everything else downloads correctly. I believe the problem may be in the coding for the Forza games. The drive can't read the base game at all!

The issue has nothing to do with detection. The xbox already knows the hard drive is there, and it downloads games other than Forza games just fine.
