2TB Sammy HDD issue and controller

Hi Team,

Ive got a D3 2TB samsung Ext HDD USB3.0 that only connects to my X1 as a media hub and gives me no option to format and use as a hdd for my X1any ideas please?

Also i must add that 3 months ago i sent back a controller as the thumb sticks where faulty (loose) i have today received my 3rd replacement and it was sent with the right thumb stick stuck in the down position, its clunky as hell when trying to use it and
un-usable, it came in a RM bag FFS...We really mean a lot to Xbox dont we. £429 and they send me out 3 replacements that are all faultyi have emailed the agent dealing with it and tweeted xboxuk plus many more but as im reporting a complaint non have replied..if
i told them how great they all where they'd all re tweet it.

External hdd and controller problem

Hi, i have xbox one day one edition and i use seagate 2TB, until recently they work fine, but around after july update my controller keep getting on off issue, and now my external hdd keeps getting on/off problem.

when hdd reconnecting again and again my controller suddenly do the same

360 won't format

the hdd needs to be exactly 2tb thats why youre seeing this issue. it wont format anything over 2tb. if you plan to get a new hdd to use this feature stay away from seagate for now.

Lets first start here:
support.xbox.com/.../console-doesnt-detect-external-storage

-Make sure that there are not partitions on the drive and that the file system is in one that is supported for games, apps, on the Xbox One. NTFS is what it should be with no partitions at all.

-I can't speak to how your controller is being used, stored, etc.

-Best of luck with the outcome on this matter.

ahh right, ive a 2TB external, most people i know with the same have no issues, most people i speak th that do have issues have 1TB or 3TB etc...

if i remember correctly the microsoft external HDD you can get for the xbox is a 2TB, its like they tried it out for that specific size of HDD and as long as theirs works to hell with the rest sorta thing.

well the word any is like a false promise in this case. i wouldnt use seagate as they have compatibility issues. also the hdd can only be at most a 2tb hdd anything higher it wont format

I just built this PC. It is running with an Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX 2070 Super, a 500gb NVMe M.2 drive, a 2TB HDD, and 32gb of DDR4 RAM.

That is an odd issue indeed. I built my own PC, an i7 8700, 2TB SSD a 512GB SSD and a 2TB HDD, 16GB DDR4 and an RTX 2080.

Well your specs aren't an issue, that's for sure.

Did you install the latest version of Windows 10, ver 2004 or an earlier version?

Did you install the latest driver from Nvidia?
