2TB External HDD for Xb1 - $100

I'm here to spread the word about a external hdd that you can buy for the xbox one. Its 7200 rpm and its also 2 TB.

I have been searching everywhere to get a new external drive for my xbox one and i was close to getting the turos that was listed in the kotaku articles based on the speed.

The external drive that i found after searching and spec comparing is called the

The Fantom 2 TB comes with a 3 yr warranty and its fast. I wanted something that increased load times but also could store a lot. I think i found the perfect hdd for only $100.

Instant On features haven't worked in over a year, can anyone help me get it working again???

Plus my over 100 XBLA games that I can't play anymore on xb1, and I have 72 games on my xb1 between internal and external HDD. Before anyone suggests it....these features stopped working long before I got an external hdd, lol.

Im thinking about jumping on this tomorrow once I feel like taking a look at what the steps are for replacing the internal PS4 HDD.

 

I've recommended the Fantom externals whenever a thread pops up here asking about external choices.

The reason they can give you that three year warranty is the aluminum case and the fact it's very well ventilated, heat is the HD killer and this handles it. If you plan on running games directly from an external I don't think you'll find a better option
than the Fantoms and they have even dropped in price since the One started offering external support.

 

I just bought a caddy that had a fan in and added a spare 3tb HDD worked great

It's good to know that works, docking stations can sometimes be recognized by an OS as an internal drive and I was concerned the One would try and boot from it.

I have one of these but haven't hooked it up yet do to lack of space and I'm still waiting for confirmation from MS that internal swaps won't cause your console to be banned, I'd prefer to go that route.

@Randver Yeah i have looked at so many drives and all the specs and the fantom honestly was the best one that i could find that was more than 1TB and was fast.

I also just ordered it because i read a lot about the heat issues in the hdd's that have no ventalation and have a failure rate just because of that. The fantom drive just vit everything that i wanted in terms of space, speed and ventalation.

I just cant wait to get it now so i can test it out and for $100 you cant beat it.
