    2nd Xbox to set-up - anything I should know/do to make sure it goes smoothly?


    I received my Xbox One X today, and will set it up this evening. It's our second Xbox - we've had a One S for a year. I am the main account holder, my son has an account under the family group (his own email). He'll continue to use the S, I'll set the X
    up for my use. The one S has Gold Live, and I just signed up for the Ultimate game pass ($1 for the first month).

    We'd like to play certain games online together occasionally (e.g. COD, fortnite). Is there a certain way I should set things up to make sure we can do this? Thanks.

    The S should already be your home console. Make sure it is with your account. I'm assuming you will now be using the X. Just sign on the X and download or transfer your games from the S.

    yes what you should do is on your (S) console sign into your account and make it your home xbox.

    this ensures that your son can play all the games you can and everything you buy he can play aswll without needing to be signed into your account.

    Disconnected from XBox Live everytime I start a game

    Correct date/time/time zone settings and make sure they are set up to the present date/time. It is odd if the system update had anything to do with your initial settings being reset.

    Xbox one cache will not clear

    I was able to make things work with a console reset. Make sure that if you do reset the conles from the settings that you choose the "Reset, but keep my games" option. It will be a bit more work, but should keep you going smoothly for the next four or
    so years.
