    2nd Xbox One console Disc Drive issue


    Hey folks, I sent in my first Xbox One towards the end of January (disc grinding/noise issue), and recieved a new one in a timely matter. Now this new one has started having the same issues in reading discs(i would say 9/10 times after switching discs it
    won't work). It's really frustrating this has happened again in such a short time frame. What should I do, because I am afraid this will happen again if I send in this console and get a new one.

    Blu-Ray Playback Bad for Xbox One Laser?

    I have a launch one and my drive is giving me massive problems. Just like my original Xbox and my 360.

    Honestly Microsoft it’s emberrasing that every Xbox console has had disc drive issues.

    Hardware problems on Xbox One

    Are you guys having issues with the headset having nothing but static? Disc drives that won't read or install? Or console installation crashing? Well, I guess since it's fairly new, Microsoft didn't see this coming. I read a news article just now and this is what I saw.

    I'm afraid your only option is to send it of for repair again.

    I'm in the same boat,sent mine of because of a faulty disc drive & the one i got back is starting to play up as well.

    There really isn't a whole lot of options at this point. If the Optical Disc Drive (ODD) is starting to go out or is becoming misaligned, then you simply need to have it repaired or replaced. I know it comes as small comfort, but it's part of being a first
    adopter. These things are going to happen, and what really matters is how well the company responds to these issues. Give support a call (800-4-MYXBOX) and let them know what's happened so far and that you need to get it exchanged again.

    Hi,

    Sounds like the laser in your console's Blu-ray drive has a hardware issue.

    To test if your Xbox One X has issues reading discs, try playing a DVD movie disc. If can't read DVD movie discs either then your console has a hardware fault.

    Note: It must be a DVD movie disc, not a Blu-ray movie disc.

    There are two lasers in the Blu-ray drive, one for reading Blu-ray discs and one for DVD discs. Xbox One games use Blu-ray and the 360 console used a DVD drive.

    REQUIRES the 8gb installation. A 2nd disc is the play disc that is optional to install to the hard drive but can be played as is.
