    2nd Xbox controller not recognised in game?


    Hello,

    My partner and I would like to play couch co-op, we have 2 functioning and updated controllers that are both linked to the console and operating within the home screen.

    When we open a suitable game the 2nd controller is not functional except for the home button.

    We have tried power cycling, resetting, copilot is off, updated firmware. We only bought the xbox to play together so currently this is a waste of $500.

    Hi Josef,

    It was happening within Mortal Kombat, which we picked because we were pretty sure it supported local multiplayer. We only bought the xbox today.

    We have 2 accounts, each one assigned to a different controller. But we have also tried signing the 2nd controller in as a guest and it makes no difference.

    That's strange, Mortal Kombat (11 and X) has both local multiplayer support

    I play it with my brother without no issues.

    Are you able to use another game? (if you have game pass, Overcooked is co-op too)

    In the meantime, is your Xbox console up to date too?

    If possible try reinstalling the game

    Is this happening with all the games or with an specific game? (the ones that supports co-op)

    May I know if you have each controller assigned to a different profile on the console?

    Or are you using the other controller with a temporary profile?

    If an Official Xbox One controller is recognised by your Xbox One console where the controller from Zedlabz is not recognised then I would try reaching out to the people who made the controller for support.
