2nd elite controller with same defect

I've read on reddit others have had this problem, but want to get any infomation on if I should just get my money back or go for another replacement and just cross my fingers it doesnt happen again. The contoller has the exact same issue as the orginal,
the right joystick is very loose after about 3 months of casual gaming. Curious if Microsoft has fixed the quality contol issues. The extension from the 3 month to a 12 month warranty tells me they know they have an issue, but is it fixed? Thanks!

Elite Controller Grips Problem

Hi! My elite controller have the same problem, and it is out of warranty. It is another defect in an 180$ controller.

 

xbox 360 wired controller not working on windows 10

Same, just got an elite xbox one controller- it and a 2nd controller are just connecting and disconnecting. Even tried a 2nd cable.

What does it mean?

 

When you say it's loose, do you mean where the interchangeable stick is attached to the "dome" bit, or like the spring in the thumbstick is pretty weak?

 

I have had the same problem on the left analogue stick. The original one was sent off to Xbox and the replacement arrived not long after. The replacement has developed the exact same issue ( stick drift, sagging into controller and horrible rattle)

I am speaking to support chat right now to get it repaired/replaced again.

Considering the cost of the handset the reliability is shocking.

The second controller only has 5 weeks of use. The original managed 7 weeks.

Considering a Scuf replacement depending on the outcome of this conversation.

I have just finished speaking with Mark D - Microsoft Answer Tech. Same outcome as the first controller, replacement will be shipped once the faulty one is dispatched.

I cant fault the Answer Tech guys, always aim to resolve the issue without too much hassle.

I can fault the build quality of the Elite controller.... This issue with the sticks (the dome in particular) is cropping up more and more. for £120(at the time) I expected better build quality and reliability.

Anyone experiencing the same issue should open a chat window with support and get their's sorted.
