29 of Destiny's Biggest Design Flaws

Nice read. A handful of those issues are more "minor quibble" than anything else, the rest are 100% true. I grabbed the Ghost edition and have sunk like 300 hours into the game since launch. When TDB launched, I beat it in 2.5 hours and pretty much dropped
the game after that. The loot system is trash, the story is trash, I really hate running the raids for a CHANCE at good gear, and Bungie focuses far too much of their attention on fixing exploits rather than bugs.

The new raid is apparently getting fixed this Tuesday. Can't wait to read about how much stuff they break in the attempt.

 

Biggest problem for me was the so called story and the bullet sponge bosses

 

The ridiculous amount of upgrading and farming, combined with limited amount of variety, sucked all the fun out of the game. While doing the co-op with some friends does salvage the game to an extent, after a while I just started dismantling new legendary
and exotic weapons, simply because I wasn't willing to put 30+ hours into raising the level by doing bounties.

Like Rippen said, you expect to make some progress in a game, and when it feels like you're trudging through a boggy grind, no wonder so many people quit playing the game.

 

Not enough variety in bounties started to do it for me. Got tired of doing the same one every couple of days...

Destiny has to be my favorite dancing game of 2014.

Though, even if a lot of those things in the article are 'minor' it all adds up and eventually wears you down, like not skipping cutscenes as well as sitting through the ship orbit animation stuff just really kills me after a playing a different multiplayer
game that's a lot faster to get into things.

I'm sure I'll play Destiny again sometime this year, but they do make it hard!

 

Too bad that IGN wasn't aware of these "design flaws" when it reviewed it....
