Never considered it to be a prank seeing as it was posted here today. If it is an April fool's then I want 5 minutes of my life back.

Seriously.

Make a good game though. Bet somebody releases it!

 

You cannot use money on your account for something that is subscription based like Live or Gamepass. It’s needs to be a credit card, PayPal or a store bought card.

 

Do they state clearly that such "cash card" can only purchase games but not membership? And why can't customers use the cash card for funding their membership? Are there any loopholes that would let them pay less?

 

I haven't bought a card in a while so I don't know what they exactly state on them, but when you buy gold or game pass from Xbox you're starting a subscription service so you have to have a card on file they can continue to charge with the subscription which
you can't with a prepaid card.

 

They don't state that, but they should. Unfortunately, you cannot use cash on your account for subscriptions.
