Anyways it is worth mentioning that anyone who pre-orders EA Sports FC 24 will also receive a free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but annoyingly it's only valid for new XGP members. If you choose to go for it, Microsoft says that you'll receive this code "via Xbox system message after full payment is received".

As long as you have a Ultimate Game Pass subscription, it will convert any new time. I would wait until your Ultimate has ended and then start a new Gold membership, otherwise you will only end up with 5 months of Ultimate.

Since you added standard Game Pass to Game Pass Ultimate, it was converted to Ultimate. The price of what you added, would have been equal to the 4 months of Ultimate you received. In order to get the full 6 months, you would have needed to add the code after your current Ultimate expired.
