20percent gpu boost with dx12 on xbox

Yellow makes a valid point. My expectations graphics wise have been met on the next gen consoles. I think MS's priority should be working on what we have and fix the small stuff.

Going to a completely new OS could turn into a nightmare. Current games may see performance decreases, new game development could be delayed or even scrapped. In my opinion it's not worth the risk and anyone who thinks that a DX release can't screw things
up.....all you need to do is look at 9 to 10.

Well said Randver..your whole second paragraph is spot on what i worry about when seeing these topics. Me personally would much rather see a more stable dashboard tweak plus additions etc. rather than trying to change the whole OS around while those small
things still linger.

Sure everyone wants better looking games and experiences hence the reason we all went next gen but i'm also a realist and what sacrifices will have to be made if that happens:/ I know little of this DX12 stuff but as much as i have seen it pop up here it
sounds like a big deal.

It's essentially saying, same graphics just faster. I play allot of the competition consoles yet every time I play the XB1, it still looks impressive for a console.

 

Just watched the show (thanks for the link PICK), thought it was good, they seem to have got to grips with what they want to do and they're doing it.

 

Don't forget that the Xbox One hardware was designed for FULL DX12 as Phil Spencer said. Up till now the system has been running a placeholder OS.

 

Shouldn't the thread title be "PC Version of Fable sees 20% performance increase on DX12 compared to DX11"? Phil never mentioned the Xbox One, nor its GPU, which still has a peak of 1.33Teraflops. Consoles get optimisations all the time, see Ice Team for
details, but don't take my word on it.

I'll believe this "performance increase" when i see it, at the very least DX12 should improve stability right? I'll have to do some fps tests etc on my PC when windows 10 drops.

No one can be offended or sad now.

 

I like my xbox as is if this makes it better bonus if not o well I just hope it don't make it worse

 

Some people are thinking the GPU is literally getting more powerful, but Microsoft are simply saying that the new API is more efficient at rendering the same frames as the old API. Other platforms are likely seeing similar improvements to their optimisations,
but unlike Microsoft they are not trying to sell their API at a dev conference. It's a shame that so many have misunderstood this announcement completely.

Thats the same info they have on their website when you check Windows 10.

Thats why I was so surprised people say the whole Xbox will get super powers.

Still whatever makes my gaming faster is good, which it does in the end.

If the current system works better it will be faster gameplay.

Lets hope they can increase that another 20 % one day cause there will always be bugs to fix lol
