2016 Vizio TV and Xbox One S - Video Black outs

I have an Xbox One S hooked up to the HDMI 1 on my M70-D3. And while it's great, there are black outs periodically.

This only happens with the Xbox and only when hooked up to the M70-D3. I tried other sources on the TV, HD antenna, Apple TV (4th Gen), and using Cast, there was no issue with those sources.

I hooked my Xbox to a M70-C3 (2015) and there was no issue on that TV.

So, there seems to be an issue between the Xbox One S and specifically the M70-D3, I have the latest firmware on both devices.

Does Microsoft know of this issue?

The CTO from Vizio stated on the avs forums this is a known issue, my feeling on it is vizio owes me a refund.

 

Xbox One S 4K output causing black flashing with Vizio PQ65-F1

When I enable the 4K video output on Xbox One S it causes intermittent black screen flashing on my new Vizio PQ65-F1

Set-up: Tivo Roamio>Xbox One S>Yamaha RX-A660BL>Vizio PQ65-F1 on HDMI 1 input on TV. All HDMI cables are high speed 18GBps.

When I enable the 4K display video output setting on the Xbox One S the problem happens when watching TV or playing games.

When I change it to 1080p the problem is resolved. Allow 4K setting is turned on and YCC 4:2:2: is turned off in advanced settings.

Using a Roku through the receiver with 4K to the TV works fine no issues, the problem is only with Xbox One. on 4K video output.

Is there any way I can play Xbox One S with 4K video output for TV watching and gaming on the Vizio PQ65-F1 without these HDMI handshaking issues?

The same here with a Samsung UE48JU7500. There are several blackouts for approx. 1-3 seconds.

 

I figured it out, if I turn off HDR on the Xbox and Color Sampling on the Vizio the issue goes away. It has to be both.

I contacted Vizio and they are aware of the issue and working on a fix, oddly when I called the first time they had no advice for me except to wait for the fix, I doubt they haven't figured out the issue with the HDR yet.

 

I have the M55-D0 (2016) , I too have issues with the black outs. I have been having this issue since the day the new xbox one S released. It was much worse then. I had a open ticket through Microsoft, they promised to call multiple times and talk to me
about it, and get information etc. 3 people failed to call. I kept getting passed around until someone finally decided to close the ticket. Microsoft and vizio both have since out updates since, and still getting multiple black outs.

I already own a Xbox one, I bought the One S AND the Vizio M55 after speaking to both companies and being assured that the HDR would work together. Now I have essentially a $350 paper weight. I have 13 HDR 4K bluray movies. I bought and sent back a Samsung
4k player (it worked without a hitch in HDR). I bought Forza Horizon 3 only because it was a HDR game after Microsoft promised a fix would be out when the game released that would fix the problem.

At this point I wish Microsoft would just refund my price of the system, so I could just buy a 4k player with the money. they are not working to fix the problem, they just want us to stop complaining. I have called them 5 times each person has said something
different. They all take me through the steps of turning everything on. At this point I'm pretty sure I can figure that out. I have provided video of what happens. I am more aggravated today then I was when I bought the system.

3 people from Microsoft has confirmed that it is in fact a Microsoft error. Once HDR content is viewed the problem stays until I reset the system. it makes playing a game impossible and watching a movie a very frustrating experience. I am almost to the point
of giving up all xbox products.

 

Same here with my Samsung U28E590D 4k monitor...I am furious...
