2015 YouTube Update for XBox 360.

This was a good effort, but there are some concerns and constructive ideas I'd like to share with the developement team, if they visit here. Many people have been voicing trouble with the Youtube app, or program, as I prefer to call it. I think that some
people's issues are related to connections wiring and the need to re-download their profile, but the recent YouTube update took away a key tool.

The key tool that was lost or hidden in the new update: The HD indicators when browsing videos and the quality indicator that appeared during a video in the top left corner whenever the controllers A Button was pressed. The XBox 360 doesn't have any connection
speed utility, so this little 320/480/720/1080 bar quality indicator bar was useful in diagnosing connections.

The other thing is that the Youtube app treats the XBox as though it were a small touch screen mobile device, which it isn't. Most of us are using 40" or larger screens, and the way Youtube's interface is layed out wastes alot of screen space. The controls
were also changed, and it's annoying. I can no longer restart a video by pulling the left trigger on the xbox controller. Hope this finds its way to the right people.

What? I know you are trying to be constructive, but this new App is crap, especially since I didn't ask for the update, it was forced. now,

I cannot rewind or ff in multiples anymore

when i do ff, it hangs and i have to restart the video

I cannot sort search results by date, view count, or rating

I cannot skip search results using the right or left trigger button

I now have to scroll through every single video in the search result

to skip an ad, i have to ensure that I am on the skip ad button vs the old feature where you only had to hit x to skip ads

this was the only reason I used the xbox regularly, apart from HALO. i am thinking of cancelling my membership and switching to a different console. This oversight is way beyond stupid. I'm done.

 

I can't even use the guide and most of the videos shown on the screen upon start-up have gray pictures. Which means, yes, I don't have access to my history, subscriptions, account settings, or anything. A bit annoying.

However, I can still connect my laptop to the 360 through the website, so that's good.

 

I'm having problems with the rewind too since the update.

I'm also having problems with pixels, dropped frame rates, and 1080p videos playing back in lower resolutions when they shouldn't.
