20 Things I'd love to see in future updates for the XB1

So here's a list of thing's I'd like to see featured in future updates for the XB1, I know currently Microsoft has a "Large" update coming soon so after it hits I will re-post my list and perhaps have some new things on it, and hopefully a lot missing
from it, feel free to leave your thoughts!

1. Fix the slight lag when typing a text message, I notice it the most when I use backspace, space, and move the cursor.

2. Add in the option to view Recent Players from the Friends App.

3. Add in the option to enable notifications for when your Favorites sign online.

4. Ability to send Picture, Voice, and Video messages to help create a much more personal way of communicating.

5. Enable Kinect navigation in the settings app and also enable the "Xbox Play" command to play a movie from it's main menu, more voice commands that I'd love to see added in will be in a seperate forum post.

6. 3D Blu-Ray Support.

7. Complete Dolby Digital support across all ports, as well as adding the 5.1 and 7.1 uncompressed audio support to the optical output.

8. Add the ability to view how much storage we have, I know they took it away to help give us a feeling that we truly have "unlimited" storage however, that time is not currently upon us so it would be nice to know.

9. Take away the right for developers to have microtransactions in any XB1 games from this point on.

10. Update both Xbox Music and Xbox Video to play files from USB Devices.

11. External HDD support.

12. Ability to send in your XB1 or take it too a microsoft store to pay too have a bigger or faster hard drive, such as a SDD, put in too make it fast, course it'd probably be expensive depending on the drive or the size but it would still be nice to
have the option.

13. Adjust the UI for it is sometimes complicated or just time consuming to get around without the use of the Kinect.

14. Have the option to remove payment methods using your XB1 instead of having to go online.

15. Improve the built in DVR to be able to record at a max of 720p/60fps or perhaps even 1080p/30fps or 1080p/60fps, also give the DVR an autodection system to where it will automatically record the game at it's highest native resolution and frame rate,
for instance if I'm recording a clip in Forza 5 it knows to record at 1080p/60fps but if I'm recording a clip in Deadrising 3 then it records it at 720p/30s, and for games like Ryse that plays at 900p/30fps, record it at 1080p/30fps.

16. Make sure that the XB1 version of the "Games with Gold" program is better then the 360 version, also think about a "Movies with Gold" program and give away 2 free HD movies or Seasons on the weeks that a new game isn't being giving away so that
every week we have something new to get, for instace week 1 and week 2 be giving away "Game 1" week 3 and week 4 be giving away "Game 2" and Week 2 and week 3 be giving away "Movie 1" and week 4 and week 1 be giving away "Movie 2".

17. A Notification that pops up when you sign in after your system has been doing installing an update telling you what changes have been done, also would be a benefit if we got a notification say a week or two before an update was coming and what was
in store for us to give us something to look forward to.

18. The ability to upload a clip in upload studio while I play a game or a movie.

19. Be able to snap Skype while playing a game or movie so that you can actually cam someone instead of just hearing there voice, also add the ability to "share screen" so the person you're camming can watch you play while talking to you, like
personal steaming.

20. Fix voice commands not working when a "Universal Studios", or another movie company's screen saver comes on while the movie is paused.

P.S. I will also be making a separate post saying what could be upgraded or changed on the Smartglass App and the Kinect, I would honestly love to see another Kinect in a few years that'll give me a feeling of playing on a new console once again, without
paying for that new console price.

Global Leaderboard

Is there any chance a future update would have a global leaderboard feature? I'd love to be able to see how my score in Dash reflects against the rest of the world.

Yes, I'd love to see more Halo 2 maps opposed to Halo 3, as that was just a suggestion, although what you said is true. I'd love to see more Halo 2 maps in the future ^.^

Personally what I would like to see is some sign language options for people that are hard of hearing and a button sequence to trigger "Xbox Record That" for the same reasons.

I'm more or less just talking bout and wondering what other people think, though I suppose the main objective is hoping that the Xbox team reads this, and that's some very unique and interesting ideas ya got, I totally agree!

 

Most seem fairly reasonable...number 4, if you mean send photos/videos that were taken with kinect, No thanks!! Too many people will abuse that. 12, moot if you enable external HDD. 9, I doubt they are going to handcuff devs, the microtransaction door has
been opened and will never be closed again.

 

I don't think people would abuse it at all honestly, I we the ability to send picture messages on the 360 remember? Perhaps they could do it to where you can only send video/picture messages to those who were on your Favorites list, also 12. Would still
be nice to have even if external HDD support was implemented for those who wanna have say a large HDD built in for a clean set up or say a faster drive like a SSHD or even a SSD for that matter, already been proven that the XB1 can handle them, and yeah I
fear the same thing though honestly micro transactions really doesn't bother me as much as a lot of other people, just threw that in there cause I know a lot of people don't like it.

 

Yes, people would abuse it....how long did it take for the twitch/PS4 drunk woman stripped stuff to hapen?? 1-2 weeks....that is probably why there is still a delay with getting twitch streaming on xbox one....

 

Well that's a bit different to be fair, it's a single stream going out to what could very well be literally thousands of people watching on twitch from there phones, computers , or other gaming devices so that gives the users more of a reason to abuse it,
and as far as why streaming's not available yet Microsoft stated at launch that they had it ready to go but we're upset with how it turned out so they wanted to Twitch to completely re-build the app again. We had picture messaging on the 360 and it never had
a problem with people abusing it, also Microsoft could easily take actions to afford so, such as banning people permanently from video and picture messages after there third offense, as they're doing that with apps, or as I said make it to where you can only
send picture and video messages to people on your favorites list.

 

However, it did just occurs to me that picture and video messages would be a private matter so I don't think they should be able to monitor them, but if someone were to abuse this then we should be able to report them then the Xbox team could look into then

 

Yeah, but it is easier to not allow it then to spend a lot of energy and dollars policing it Also, you can already send video to your friends, on skype!

 

Haha well always agree to disagree and yeah that's true but not everybody has skype, even though it's free, still would be a lot easier to just do it all via Xbox ya know? Plus they could also add stuff like being able to watch video messages and send
video messages through smartglass on ur phone or tablet, once more if they were to make it to where u can only send video and picture messages to ur favorites, nobody could abuse the system and that's pretty easy to setup
