2 years 9 months 8 days later, what has your Xbox One experience been like so far?

^ Not really, Sniper Elite, Ryse, Mordor Shadow of Middle Earth, Thief, Witcher 3, Dragon Age, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Dying Light, Tomb Raiders (both) Watchdogs, Murdered Soul, Evolve, Metal Gears, Mad Max, Arkham Knight just some of the games
I have enjoyed that are neither AAA shooters, Indie garbage or remakes. For those who claim boredom its not lack of titles its your lack of interest, there is plenty to keep most gamers more than happy. Then you factor in the other AAA titles and its bangedit
tidy as far as I can see.

saints row 2 freezes at new game loading screen

the warranty has been out for about 2 years that is 2 years and 9 months that i havent opened the xbox

There is some reading fail in this thread.

I will try and make it clear.

- A 24 hour communication ban was applied to my account on 8/7/2016 9:50:11 AM (UTC).

- It is now around 5am UTC on 8/9/2016 - almost 2 days later.

- There is no option to contact enforcement as this was supposed to be a 24 hour ban.

- The enforcement forum has been shut down effective late 2015.

- I have contacted xbox live support twice who have confirmed on both occasions this ban has expired and to post on these forums.

- I would like a contact at enforcement so I can have this investigated.

- I would like a refund on the 12 months of xbox live I added earlier this week (exp 17 Oct 17).

So if anyone has any actual advice that would be great.

Out of these I have played, Ryse (boring, like really, really, boring), Dragon Age (meh, okay but nothing special), Tomb Raider (the "remake" cause I never played it on the Xbox 360 and it was boring) and I only Downloaded Sunset
Overdrive (not played, well cause it was "free").

The only other Game on that list that looked remotely good would be Witcher 3 but I hated Witcher 2 and can't stand Geralt. If it was a true RPG were the Player created the Character I probably would have played it.

As for the rest, boring, boring, boring, boring and everything wrong with the Industry. Well, maybe I'll try Shadow of Middle Earth when it becomes a Free with Gold rental. Then again, I'll probably just DL it and not play it like SO.

For clarity sake, I have 108 Games listed on my HDD. I think three at best have my time.

 

"Ryse" was boring?

If you find those games boring then that's down to you & your taste in games.It's not the consoles fault.

Lei's 2 fave games are Destiny & WWE,i can't think of 2 more boring games but that's just my taste in games.

Both platforms have had their influx of HD remakes & indie games this generation.

When it comes to new ip's it's been few & far between but the problem now is a lot of gamers prefer sequels & wont take the risk on a new series which is a shame but I suppose it's getting harder for developers to come up with new ideas.

 

@Elohm exactly my point the fault isn't with the console or this generation of games. You seem to have a somewhat jaded palate when it comes to gaming in 2016.

The games that I don't like (but everyone else is praising) are indeed well made, but they (the games that everyone else is praising) weren't fun for me to play.

The games that everyone loves to hate (but I have fun playing them) definitely could have been made better (example: Aliens Colonial Marines, I love this game).

If I'm playing a game that isn't fun and it contains aspects that I don't like (example: crafting stuff), then I'm going to hate this game.

If I'm playing a game that I have no interest in, I am not having fun, and it contains aspects that I don't like then the outcome is going to be bad. I am going to absolutely despise this game.

Recore has the same problem that I have with Gears Of War, and Warframe (to name a few).

I hate shooting things in 3rd Person Point Of View, it is a roayl pain in the rear

The Hitman games and Oblivion got it right by giving the player the option to use a 1rst Person Point Of View or 3rd Person Point Of View

For combat, a 1rst Person Point Of View is what I use

For exploration, a 3rd Person Point Of View is what I use

I wasn't having a go at you Lei.If you like those games then great.My point was that not everyone likes the same games & to say this gen has had a poor selection is not true,it's had some great games so far.

If people limit themselves to certain types of games & wont try other things then this gen would seem boring.

@ Elohmn, I want to be respectful because I do recall that it was your advice which spurred me on three weeks ago and led to my purchasing the Xbox One S, even though I had a perfectly functional Sunset Overdrive LE console coupled with a Halo 5 Guardians
console waiting in the wings. I guess you could say both have been consigned to history now, and I couldn't be happier.

More money than sense? Not at all, because unlike people who support "multiple platforms" (PC, mobile and tablet included), I simply support a lifestyle choice, and that choice is PREMIUM GAMES. For my money, the current generation of Xbox is providing everything
I need, and although I could theoretically buy into another "platform" (be it PS4, Vita, 3DS or Wii U / NX) for the range of exclusive or premium games on those platforms, I'm not emotionally invested. And that is key.

Elohmn, you've stated that you support "games, not platforms" and bemoan the fact that Witcher 3 does not allow the customization of your player-character, but then in the same breath you shoot down Dragon Age [Inquisition] for providing EXACTLY that. Furthermore,
you downloaded Sunset Overdrive - another Xbox-exclusive property that boasts a wonderful character editor - and yet you HAVEN'T played this either (while espousing the benefits of games over platforms)? Er, something is wrong with this picture.

Let me tell you something about Sunset Overdrive. I could've played the digital version at launch, as obviously I had the console and the digital token. However, at the time I was deeply embedded with whatever I was playing on Xbox 360, and my new console
sat in its packing carton for SIX MONTHS before I decided to 'jump ahead' with Resident Evil Revelations 2 - *not* Sunset Overdrive; nor Forza Horizon 2; nor Dead Rising 3; nor Watch Dogs; nor Dragon Age Inquisition - all of which I had bought ahead to welcome
my new console.

Fast forward to six months later (or a year, or any other time out of mind relative to my experience with the new Xbox platform), and I could not BELIEVE that I turned my nose up at Sunset Overdrive! It was pure gaming nirvana, and I immediately snapped
up all available DLC, and played it and played it until I had exhausted all of the wardrobe options for my avatar. Because I like 'tailoring' my gameplay, so to speak.

It's a similar deal with Dragon Age vs The Witcher. Admittedly, I *loved* Gwent (and look forward to the new standalone game), and I did in fact peel back the entire overworld with Geralt, uncovering EVERY waypoint on the map, going for broke - trying to
extract every last ounce of playability from the game before moving on. However, *since* returning to DA [Inquisition] - as I had already played the 360 version - and this time including all of the DLC expansions, I've gotta say: Geralt can do a running jump!
Ain't no way am I becoming "invested" in the last of his misadventures.

As good or great or acclaimed as The Witcher 3 is, I've simply no mind to go there again. I had my fill, but on a like-for-like basis, nothing quite compares to my immaculate 'Inquisitor'... in fact, in terms of inhabiting the character, or purely roleplaying,
she's head and shoulders above the competition. Which includes my beloved (now sadly departed) PlayStation Home avatar, and my overly-risque Saints Row 3/4 cipher.

So yeah, we're each entitled to support the games or "platforms" we truly desire, but you can't truly bemoan a platform that just keeps on keeping on. And there's no shadow of a doubt that my Xbox One S is a keeper! Thanks for your help, Elohmn.

 

Anything far most than PlayStation's dashboard! Not to be conflicted with the terms of PlayStation having better graphics since 4k technology have come with better quality rates than just 1080p! I myself think Xbox is where real gamer's interact well through
Xbox's great Accessories and feel suppress your loneliness with some great Apps and a wonderful Games with Gold offers, not just that, but also an Xbox Live Rewards service that offers great Points and Currencies for every penny you spend on any item in the
Xbox Marketplace that PlayStation lacks to their own fans!

Its always optional to decide which and where do you settle. Xbox or PS, you'll know wisely, once you find the LOVED ones most certain. But for me, Xbox is my REAL HOME! <3

 

I love this gen more than any other so far. Currently loving The Evil Within. There are annoying instances of devs cutting up games and selling them piece by piece, but that happened last gen too.

 

Worst generation ever and I've been gaming since paper, pencil and dice.

What a time to be alive when the New Kids On The Block can be fleeced at the entrance to the venue and thank the guys who fleeced them for their time and effort.

Publishers aren't making games to entertain. They're making games to make money as the absolute top priority and the quality of games suffers as a result.

I said at launch that an App Store approach had no place on a £400.00 console and now the latest update has turned the XBox Store into exactly that, even with it's own "Top Paid Games" and "Top Free Games" sections.

My high point is starting to look like buying a PS 4 at a knockdown price and grabbing "Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed", "Senran Kagura Estival" and "Onechanbarra Z2 Chaos" for less than the price of the digital version of "Watchdogs: Let's Do It Again".

I know the large Multiplats do the same thing on whatever platform but it's getting so rampant it's starting to push me away from this one.
